Went to this location today with my mother and ordered 2 blizzards, these include:
1 chocolate Cherry chunk Blizzard 1 cookie dough Blizzard
Here are some or the details of what unfortunately went wrong with this order:
-Very slow service, (we went through the drive-thru and it took roughly around 45 mins for us to get our 2 blizzards with only around 3-4 people ahead of us)
-Watched as one of the 2 present employees (from what we saw) make our blizzards and wiped extra ice cream and (water/ice?) off our cups with their bare hands
-both blizzards had pop lids (not sure if that's what's their called?) Covering them, (any other location has specific lids for their blizzards
one of the blizzards was overflowing out of the cup (not entirely bad other than it ended up everywhere)
-the other blizzard (cup) was only 3/4 filled (disappointing to be honest)
-the chocolate Cherry chunk Blizzard had nothing in it, (no chocolate or cherries, only the coloring)
-the cookie dough Blizzard had a few small chocolate chips in it and nothing else, and also had some type of green slimey liquid on it
-(presumably) very understaffed?
As a final note: very disappointing visit today, however I do understand there may have been an absence of employees, or there may be more training needed. DQ is and has been my favorite place to get ice cream, but there were (in my opinion) too many issues, (some of which are similar to other reviews on Google as of posting this). Other locations in Nanaimo are definitely better than this one unfortunately :(
And to DQ: get more employees and possibly more training for your working employees, (if your customers are getting frustrated at how long it takes for their order, or if they have a poor experience (not just me), then I can imagine the poor people working at the time are having an even worse time trying to compensate due to the lack...
Read moreAll right, Let’s start with this. Poorest poorest service, 0% responsibility and the worst customer service I have ever had in the world. I ordered a customized cake and was supposed to pick it up on Wednesday, and when I come in and ask for my thing one of the employees go inside and check for it and comes out talks with the other employee, having some discussion with each other and then the owner comes and says this cake cannot me made, it’s a bread cake we only do ice cream cakes here. I was like shocked, shattered and what not, Birthday party is about to start and you took the responsibility for the special cake and you are all excited to pick the present and rush and then something like this happens. This has happened before too with many of my friends. They close anytime they want, sometimes no body comes to the drive thru even after waiting for 5 minutes. And even after all this instead of apologizing or feeling sorry the owner/ boss promises to make the cake ready in few hours and what I see then. Nobody is picking up the calls and when stepped there no similar staff is there who was there in the morning. Read moremy son and I went for $6 meal deals we ordered two and it cost me nearly $19... they charged $7 for each meal, they charged $3 for my son to have a SMALL blizzard instead of the ice cream they charged me .50 for his honey mustard sauce because he didn't want the gravy, they called it an "extra" sauce . Most of the tables were all dirty and WE were the ONLY customers in the whole place there was NO excuse for that. My burger literally fell apart because the bun was so dry and it was the tiniest freaking piece of meat I have EVER seen in my life I am not kidding when I say the slice of onion was TWICE the size of the piece of meat I took it back and told them not to bother giving me a new burger because I would just get another burger that fell apart and I would take chicken, the guy STILL tried to give my another burger and when I refused he brought out the chicken strips right away " funny they were ready even though we were the ONLY ones in the whole place " ( so he tried to snow me and hope I would just shut up and take the burger ) ! I will NOT be going back to Woodgrove DQ again when the businesses start being that CHEAP about every tiny little thing they lose my patronage AND my respect.
