We decided to go here the location is really nice your over looking the river. We went for cocktails here 2 weeks ago and service was good so decided hey let's go back here on our way back through. So our 2nd visit had a different waitress service wasn't the best they seem over whelmed with the work load of the tables it took a while to get drinks then no water had to get the waitresses attention to get water which most of the time you get straight way. I went with lobster roll and ceasar salad my partner had a burger. Lobster roll a little bland tasted fresh the Caesar salad was well when I looked again in the salad seems either they forgot the dressing or were running out ended up using the two lemon wedges to give the salad more flavour and moisture there's also no salt & pepper on the table and trying to get the waitresses attention wasn't easy at all. So disappointing my partner said the burger was ok. I pass through Edmonton a few times a year but would have to decide wether I would go back here. Trying to pay wasn't eiasy either having to ask twice yes the terrace was busy but not full and inside wasn't full at all only a few tables The presentation is good but food really needs to taste good as well.

What a gem of a restaurant with a FAB location. The town of Edmundston was really charming so I’m really glad I stopped in on my way from Ontario to Saint John’s. The view from the patio was perfect to soak in some late summer vibes and it was great to be able to go for a walk along the river after dinner. Parking is limited in the direct lot next to the resto but you can also parking in the lot just a bit down and walk over along the river. Ordered the Muscles with a side upgrade of the Lobster poutine and a side salad bc I couldn’t decide and the staff was super kind and accommodating for that. The muscles were perfectly cooked and delicious!! I’d totally order them again. The sauce and the overall taste of the lobster poutine was good but my lobster was pretty chewy so felt like it was frozen and dethawed wrong but if you eat it with the sauce, fried and cheese curds, it was fine. It did make me glad that I didn’t order the full size one. My market salad was simple but good. My waitress was attentive and really friendly! Would totally come by again on my way home :)

Ate there a few times just because the town doesn’t really have that many selection of food that are on par with what I’m used to getting from the city. I really liked the lobster roll. The seafood pasta was okay, it was a little too heavy for me and the halloumi salad (not in the picture but I took one to go) was a little salty for my liking. Their cocktail was also pretty much a mocktail but hey, maybe ask for double if you’d like to taste your alcohol. Overall, still such a nice place to get dinner and chat. It’s overlooking the water and I know some reviews mentioned that they had a miserable time here being English speaking, I personally did not have the same experience. I was accommodated well and the waitresses who helped me were attentive to my needs.

On s'assoit, on commande nos apéritifs puis nos plats.

First and foremost, I usually only write positive reviews, so it takes a lot to see this side of me. But the dining experience at L'Ecluse left a mark and not in a good way.

Beautiful location and fancy decor, if you don't mind the flies everywhere (from dining room to the bathrooms).

I get that we are not French speakers, but our server could not be less welcoming. Likely this is just something we may have to get used to.

Now the food.

We ordered the ployes to try since it is a local dish and it was not bad.

The salade burrata & peches was commendable, aside from the extremely salty sauce.

Seafood linguine was mediocre where my son did not touch the salty mussels after the first one and he usually devours mussels by the dozens.

And lastly, the ginger beef bowl was slathered with so much greasy dressing i could not palate more than a couple fork-fulls. Yes, i even tried scrapping some of the dressing off to the side. When i politely told our server i wish i knew they used that much dressing, her response was "that is how they make it". Nice.

I still tipped 10% but now...
