McDonald's — Restaurant in New Glasgow

My boyfriend and I stopped at the New Glasgow McDonald’s on our way back to Cape Breton from Halifax. Needless to say we were both very disappointed with our food and overall experience. We went inside to order takeout and the first thing I noticed was a swarm of flies hanging out behind the front counter and tons of soda and coffee cups on top of the garbage bins. It was obvious they haven’t taken the time to clean their lobby in a while. The service was pretty slow as it seemed like they only had one or two cashiers tending to the front counter, but I understand it’s not their fault if they have understaffed and don’t have other coworkers to assist them.

I ordered a McDouble value meal and I didn’t receive a straw in my bag. I understand that they provide the cup to pour my own drink, but every other McDonald’s I have been to has always provided a straw in my takeout bag. The McDouble itself tasted fine, but my fries were very soggy and cold. I also ordered one of the new S’mores McFlurries, and I’m not exactly sure the proper method of making one, but all of the ingredients were just dumped on top of the ice cream instead of mixed in. I don’t regularly get McFlurries at McDonalds, but I never had one where they didn’t mix the ingredients with the ice cream. My boyfriend ordered a Big Mac, and while he asked for light lettuce, it appeared as if they added extra sauce to compensate for less lettuce. There was so much sauce on his burger that it was sliding apart and wouldn’t stay together.

We ate in the car and after finishing our meals, my boyfriend went to the outside garbage can to throw away our trash. He said that the garbage can was so full that there was tons of garbage stacked on top and around the garbage bin. They probably haven’t changed the outside garbage in at least a few days, maybe even a week.

If possible, I would recommend going to any other McDonalds, and we will not be stopping at this McDonalds anymore on our trips to Halifax or anywhere else on the mainland. The McDonalds locations in Cape Breton are much better and more cleanly than this McDonalds, and I don’t need to worry whether there are...

I'll start off by saying I usually like this McDonald's location. But it had been a late supper for myself and my mother as we had just finished visiting my father at the hospital across the road.

We used the kiosk to order and while waiting for our meal and also while ordering at the kiosk we could hear a supervisor screaming and yelling at her employees regarding breaks and how fast they were moving and just telling everyone to basically shut up you'll get your break when it slows down and then it became quiet. If they seemed to slack off any in her eyes, she would yell at them again.

I have never ever ever in my many years of going to this location had to listen to someone treat the employees like this. To top this all off, are fries were cold and it just pretty much ruined the rest of our evening.

The plus side is when I filled out the survey on the receipt, that an email was sent to that location and the manager of that store got in touch with me and apologized for what we had to go through and said that they had spoke to that specific shift manager regarding the situation.

Not the place to go for Fast Food. We ordered and waited half hour before we decided to get our money back and go somewhere else!!! You def don’t want to dine in. It’s disgusting!!! Update: Decided to give it another try. When we arrive it was busy. But nothing crazy. A few people dining in. Drive thru was busy. We put our order in and I looked for a spot to sit. Not one clean table with only a few tables occupied. I let the manager know. All he said was. “Sorry, we’re really busy” we waiting for nearly 20 minutes and in that time he didn’t send anyone out to clean the tables. The garbage was overflowing So ofcourse we weren’t able to stay. When we got our order. It was only half of the order. I told the manager. He apologized and gave me another bag. That bag wasn’t out order either. I took the burger out to see it was the same burger I ordered. But not mine. Missing toppings. After I touched that burger and told the manager again this was wrong, he put the Big Mac back with the other orders...
