Literally the worst restaurant experience I have had in years!

To start the food was terrible. For co-owning an Italian restaurant it is a shame that Cecil's does not know how to make Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. The chicken was supposed to be "fire grilled" .... Not only were there no grill marks, the chicken was obviously baked in the oven and then reheated in a microwave, it was so dry it broke when you tried to pick it up with a fork. That's not it though, the Alfredo sauce may have been alright had it not been filled with julienned bell pepper strips that made the entire dish taste like creamy bell peppers. I'm not kidding when I say Stoffers frozen Alfredo is far superior and more authentic.

The service was terrible, our server took our order, delivered our beers (the brewery didn't have its own beer on tap), brought us our food, and never came back until she brought the check. She never checked to see if our meals were okay, or asked if we wanted another beer (we did).

The ambiance would have likely been okay had we not been sat in a booth right under the speakers being used to broadcast trivia. We had to yell across the table to hear each other (even though there were at least 10 open tables in the restaurant when we were sat).

It was a very bad experience, I hope others are not treated this way and fed food I wouldn't even...

Sunday brunch is superb, there's so much delicious fried food available on the menu, the Cecil's burger is double everything and in my opinion one of the two best burgers in northern Ontario. The nachos are "homemade" and the best in town if they get to your table before they become soggy and cold. Unfortunately the bar employs violent thugs as security and I've had more than enough bad experiences to never drink there again. I remember once preparing to leave, paying my bill and being immediately pushed out an entrance before having the chance to grab my coat. I remember misplacing a credit card and asking a very rude bartender if it was used for a tab only to be assaulted by three security personnel determined to rip off my arm, nose and fingers, my shoulder has never fully healed from this affront to human rights. I remember being violently thrown out with a group of friends because my anaemic friend had trouble standing after a complete stranger threw a bottle at her head and she was presumed intoxicated. I could go on but there isn't enough time in the day. A majority of the bands that regularly play there are of inferior quality. The fried cheese sticks are terrifyingly bland, some rosemary and dill would improve them enormously. Very easy to get...

My wife and I came in with the chill of being out on the lake on a cold fall day and were looking for something to warm us up. It was either French Onion Soup or Bouef Bourguignon. Fortunately both were on the menu. We chose the BB, hers on mash and mine on noodles. It was what we needed, good, hearty fare although it was not exactly what I expected. I missed the pearl onions, carrots and button mushrooms and a good amount of burgundy. This stew had spring onions and sliced mushrooms and no carrots and if there was wine in there at some time, it had evaporated with the flavour. (I also like to add a 1/4 cup of cognac and shallots.) On the other hand I enjoyed the craft beer as recommended by the waiter (You should have identified yourself, then I would give you a shout-out). She also brought me a sample of another beer I wanted to try. She was attentive and efficient. We took dessert to-go and enjoyed the chocolate cake and banana bread cake thoroughly. We definitely would recommend this resto brew pub. Btw, someone else has already mentioned the decor, so I won't belabour that point,...

Not even sure what to say. Trivia night gave me the vibe staff couldn't wait to go home. Oh ya wait...they even said they couldnt wait to go home. Thats why. It had the tension of a brightly lit, stressed out library during exam time. The Smash Burger 🍔 on trivial night is a microwaved kids burger. It's not their actual smash burger, which is why we came. The fact it's not the menu entrée option is super tacky. Wings were cold. Fried were cold. Salad was romain lettuce with 4 crutons. I had to order from the adults menu to get the "real smash burger". Wild they do this and advertise a special lol. With 4 beers and tip it was $125 Canadian dollars. 🇨🇦 🍁 This place should be lined up out the door. Music, smells of food, dim lights, security staff, beer, fun, and bartenders making $350 per hour. Truly can't understand how this is a downtown pub/brew house that stays afloat. No way the owner is around much. Order big macs via uber eats and play trivia at home with your friends for 1/10th of the price. "I can't wait to go home." 🍺 🍔 🍟

Cecils has always been one of my favorite places to go to in North Bay! They do offer some vegetarian options, along with many other regular options. I ordered the Quinoa & Black Burger, it was quite messy but delicious nonetheless. The food is a huge step up from regular pub food. They offer a variety of options such as: specialty burgers & sandwiches, salads, and fancier meals such as chicken, shrimp, and steak dishes. The food didnt take long to get and our waitress was very nice! It was a great evening, good atmosphere with some nice music playing in the background. I would highly reccomend Cecils! Even if your just looking for a place to watch a game & hang out with friends, they have alot of beer options & appetizers :)

My husband and I came to Cecil’s for a date night and we had a DELICIOUS meal with EXCELLENT service. Every staff member had a big smile and made our experience very enjoyable. I believe our server’s name was Robert but have to admit I have terrible memory with names. Nevertheless he made our evening really fun and special with personable conversation. Food came fast and certainly hit the spot! Hope to come back again next time we are in the Bay
