Opera Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in North Bay

My whole family loves this place to enjoy a lunch get-together. Their soups are deliciously unique. The egg salad sandwich I ordered was not only tasty but had a generous amount of egg filling served on fresh homemade bread. But, their speciality are their desserts, especially their cakes. We have ordered a cake on a few special occasions and not only do they go out of their way to make them beautiful, but they are a pleasure to eat as well. Just yesterday we served cake to our guests attending my daughter’s bridal shower “May the 4Th Be With You” party. It was perfect. For her wedding celebration we have ordered cupcakes and a cake which I’m sure will not only be beautiful but very yummy as well. We paid for soup and waited quite a while for it. When I finally asked for it again we were told they didn't actually have what we ordered and paid for. They didn't bother to tell us until I asked for it again. We accepted a substitute and it was fine. As we were eating a server came over and said my friend's service dog wasn't permitted in the restaurant but we could finish our lunch this time. We were told next time we would have to sit out side. When I pointed out it was cold, windy and raining she just repeated next time the service dog couldn't be inside. There won't be a next time. This is the best Cafe/lunch spot in town, hands down. I have tried every place there is to eat in North Bay, and nothing comes close to the quality, atmosphere, and service of Opera. Do yourself a favour and GO HERE, NOW!

The bread is to die for. Baked fresh every morning. So soft and fluffy, while delivering excellent complimentary flavour to any sandwich you construct with it.

Moreover, regardless of what you choose from the menu (Coffee, sandwich, wrap, dessert, etc.), you will not be let down. Nothing I have consumed has even struck me as average - everything is excellent.
