Went with great expectations after the review in the North Shore News. Ordered 1 hot chicken and 1 hot beef sandwich TO GO. Paid by VISA - the machine kept looping to a 15% tip. Could not finish payment without adding 15% to the $9.99/sandwich. Mentioned to the server that 15% is for good restaurant service - not automatic on a "to go" item. He said it was programmed into the machine. Things went down-hill from there. While we waited, a woman ordered a chicken and mushroom sandwich. Hers came first: she looked at it and promptly handed it back to the server saying "but this is not a chicken sandwich, it's some processed meat. I won't eat that as I don't know what's in it." Got her money back and left. Our sandwiches arrived. They smelled good... were huge. We headed home with happy anticipation. Lucky for Haida we weren't in their establishment when we opened the big, baguette-like sandwiches. Yup: processed meat - lots of it, I'll grant them that - but the beef and the chicken were the same: homogeneous pink slices. Sorry - and they were not tasty, just nasty processed stuff - the mayo, pickle and commercial shoestring chips in the sandwich were no help: nothing "natural" in sight. A great disappointment because we had been hoping for an exciting new place: we won't...
Read moreThe grilled chicken sub was good except there was almost no chicken in there. Was overloaded with mushrooms. The chopped mushroom looks like grilled chicken in the sub so obviously the owner was skimping out on the meat to save money, and scam customers by making it look like there is more chicken in the sub. Was hoping to get a halal chicken sub but it would have been much cheaper to have gotten a veggie delight sub from Subway. Will definitely ask for extra mushrooms from Subway next time.
Ice pack was the biggest scam. They have a banana frosty for $9. I don't like banana so I got the ice pack (ridiculous name) which in the picture has a lot of M&Ms and chocolate syrup. In reality it was just a banana frosty with 8 M&M pieces on top and little to no chocolate syrup. So $4 extra to get 8pcs of M&Ms and 2 tbsp of chocolate syrup drizzled on top Owner was taking orders at the register and he spoke little to no English. So when I asked what the "ice pack" was (ridiculous name) he just showed me the picture and said it comes in vanilla or chocolate.
Food was ridiculously expensive for what you get. My wife and I ended up getting food from somewhere else as we were still hungry from sharing the grilled "mushroom" sub. First time I feel like I got scammed by...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with the customer service at this restaurant, which is by far the worst I’ve encountered in recent years. The staff member who took my order displayed a complete lack of understanding of basic customer service principles. When I asked for carrot juice, as advertised on their website, her response was shockingly rude and dismissive, stating bluntly that they did not have it.
One of the fundamental aspects of customer service is to greet customers with a smile and politeness, neither of which were present in my interaction. Instead, the staff member seemed in a rush to end our conversation and return to chatting with her colleague in the kitchen, leaving the front desk abruptly after taking the order. This behavior created an unwelcoming and unprofessional atmosphere.
It was evident that this level of service wasn’t exclusive to me; other customers were treated with similar disregard. This is unacceptable and a clear indication that management needs to seriously reevaluate and improve their customer service training and standards at this location.
Based on this experience, I regret to say that my rating for this restaurant is less than one star. Such a lack of basic customer care and professionalism should not...
