A vibrant and refreshing dish featuring tri-color beets, avocado, orange segments, fresh basil, candied walnuts, and a lemon vinaigrette. Teriyaki Rice Bowl with Grilled Chicken – 8/10

A hearty dish consisting of marinated mushrooms, avocado, edamame, pickled cabbage, cherry tomatoes, radish, and scallions over a bed of rice. While the combination of ingredients provided a satisfying mix of flavors and textures, the grilled chicken was slightly dry, which detracted from the overall dish. However, the accompanying components were fresh and well-seasoned, making it an enjoyable option nonetheless.

Service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and highly attentive without being intrusive. From the moment I arrived, the team ensured a seamless experience, offering helpful recommendations and maintaining a consistently positive attitude.

Considering the quality of the ingredients and the care put into each dish, the pricing is fair. Portions are reasonable, and the freshness of the food justifies the cost.

Sadly we had an unpleasant experience for Father’s Day weekend. My wife called and asked how late the Lonsdale restaurant was open for dinner on Saturday. A nice lady said we are welcome to dine if we arrive by 845pm. When we arrived at 840pm and mentioned this, the response from a server was “we close at 9”. Not a pleasant greeting :( This gave us the impression we are not welcome. We decided to order take outs and waited outside. We did manage to have a glass of wine as we watched other customers inside take their time dining. We were then asked to pay for our take out before it was ready giving us the impression we need to rush. When the order arrived the server placed it on the table outside next to us rather than handing it to us. Perhaps encouraging us to stand up and leave. I gave a reasonable tip knowing the kitchen does create great meals. We’ve been loyal customers at the Deep Cove location since they opened. We were pleased when we heard they’re opening a Lonsdale location closer to our home and we expected the same courteous service as Deep Cove. We will certainly reconsider a choice of restaurants after this experience. On a good note, the food is awesome. Hopefully their management team can build on being more considerate to patrons...

We are always looking for a new place to eat. A friend recommended Scratch Kitchen so we gave it a try. A very nice simple decor and a warm greeting from the staff started us out right. Our server Jen was welcoming and got our drink order quickly. The restaurant was busy but not noisy and while there was background music it was at a volume where you could have a conversation without shouting (always appreciated). Jen explained our menu options, choices were made, and our food arrived quickly. The pizza was the best we had tasted. Thin crust, lots of flavor and interesting choices beyond your usual pizza fare. Jen checked in a few times to make sure al was good and we topped off the night with a chocolate brownie. A smaller menu but delivered the dishes well. A nice selection of local beers was appreciated. Great atmosphere, excellent food and very good service made it a great experience. These days when you question the prices one pays for the quality they receive, this restaurant really delivers on all fronts. We will defiantly be back. Give this place a try, you will not e...
