Shishlik Grill House — Restaurant in North Vancouver

First time here, Foods were good, however services were awful. Serves were nice but mismanagement was obvious.

Although we did have a great experience last time, we gave it another try last evening and had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

We were disappointment with this restaurant we visited last night (Friday August 25, 2023). Our experience was nothing short of terrible.

Firstly, during the middle of taking our order, our server abruptly walked away, leaving us in confusion and without showing proper respect.

The quality of the food left much to be desired. Not only was it served cold, but the excessive oiliness made it unappetizing.

Adding to the frustration, while we were enjoying our dessert, another twist occurred. A server informed us that our table was reserved and asked us to leave. This came as a shock, as we should have been informed about this upon our arrival.

It's clear that the serving staff requires proper training, as demonstrated by these instances. On a broader note, the management team's lack of professionalism was evident. None of the kitchen staff were wearing the required hats and appropriate attire. The most concerning aspect was the unrestricted access to the kitchen area, with outsiders seemingly entering at will, possibly as friends of the staff.

Given the cumulative negative experiences, I am left with no choice but to STRONGLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM CONSIDERING THIS RESTAURANT.

We are from out of town and a good friend of mine recommended us this restaurant. We came with very high hope but was disappointed to come. Food was decent but had better Iranian food. The server was not very welcoming and was not really helpful at all. A family member has diet restrictions, I asked for list of ingredients but she didn't provide. I understand that part if they dont but asked some items that we had allergy restrictions, she wouldn't know that either. Asked to bbq just the meat that they had with salt, she wouldn't do that either. At the end we chose a family platter with all meat and asked the Lamb chop to a separate plate just because we know the chicken is marinated with yogurt, she wouldn't put it separate, because the platter is decorated that way. We asked if there was a hospital close by if we try it and she said she doesn't know. We googled and found out that the hospital was 2 minutes away. I feel she purposely not helped us. At the end I still paid her $20 tip and she didnt even thank me for coming and dinning and left. I felt I shouldn't have tipped her at all. We usually go out alot and we never recieved such a worst customer service. We travel quit alot to North Vanvouver and I will never visit this location again in my life. I felt the server doesn't have any feeling or emotions at all towards people with allergy problems, she tried 0% to help. I guess I pay for the food and service and I expect a decent...

I was very excited to see this restaurant open. Finally I went there today. But as soon as I got there, I was disappointed. The floor was dirty and the staff was awkward. But I tried to understand that everything is new. I took menu pictures because I wanted to make good reviews and menu pictures for them. But the menu made me more disappointed. I'm Asian But I know butter chicken is not a Persian food. Looking at the menu, I could feel that it was not a professional Persian food. That didn't matter much and I ordered. Usually kebabs are served very quickly. But I waited almost an hour here. We were three and we had two foods first and one more food to wait. We all had the same food but it didn't make sense. The rest of our food was served after the food of another guest arriving later than us. Still, I tried to understand and started eating. The food was very terrible. Fries were cold and grilled tomatoes were like cherry tomatoes. We left more than half. Until then I had no intention of making this review. But when we did pay the staff gave the card machine and went to greet other guests. They did not even have very basic manners for their guests. That is the decisive reason why I made this review. I eat Persian food two or three times a week. Even if all the Persian restaurants are closed, I will never go to...
