Black Forest Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Oakville

I'm saddened to say that I had the most unfortunate experience here. I've been coming to this shop with my family for a long time now, and have always recieved mediocre customer service. However, last week (April 27) I was extremely disappointed with the service I recieved. The staff members seemed disinterested and unhelpful from the moment I walked in the door. Despite being the only customer in the shop at the time, I was left standing at the counter for several minutes before anyone acknowledged me. When I finally managed to place my order, the staff member who took it was impatient and unfriendly. I asked a few questions about the pastries on display, but received curt and uninformative answers in return. I was made to feel like a nuisance rather than a valued customer. If you're visiting Oakville, there are lots of new pastry shops opening that have a much more inclusive environment and friendlier customer service. I would steer clear...

I have been going to this bakery for over 20 years and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to order here. Every year they close for 2 weeks. this always falls during the 2 birthdays of the family members who love Black Forest cake. They are on the pricey side for these cakes but we have always loved how they stay to the traditional black forest cake. Every year, I am spending about $200 on 2- 8" cakes for my family. I also spend another $150+ on additional bake goods when i go to pick up the cakes. The store suggested that I freeze them if i needed them for a later day. I have frozen these cakes in the past and unfortunately they do not hold up well to that. I will only order for pickup for day of.

Unfortunately, this constant hassle will cause me to potentially look elsewhere. It is not worth it for a cake that has to be in the freezer for...

They have one of the best s’mores cookies I’ve ever eaten! The atmosphere is very quaint and homey. Their sweets are amazing here - we had a box of 6 (3 chocolate chip cookies, 1 jam filled cookie, 2 s’mores), an eclair, turkey pot pie, and beef roll!

The sweets were chewy, amazing and fresh. Pairs amazing with their drip coffee!

The savoury items such as the turkey pot pie and beef roll were also very fresh, warm, and delectable! It was my first try with the pot pie and it was savoury and far from bland!

The staff here are very kind and helpful. When asked for suggestions, they asked us what we like and recommended certain items to us. Very knowledgeable people!!
