The place was kind hard to find at night. The sign is not visible. It's located in the corner on the inner sides of the street.
The decor and ambiance of the place looks really good. The place is really nicely designed. It has a lot of beautiful decor that gives it a Thai feel to it. They have authentic Thai style food but the taste might have been altered for others. The waitresses are Thai ethnicity.
Came here with a group of 8. The wait was way too long and a big turn off.
Opinions on the food:
Pineapple chicken curry - pineapples is extreme sour. Not too spicy. The chickens good. The red curry is thick and creamy. $16.95
Yellow chicken curry - creamy and slightly spicy but not too spicy. The yellow curry is not thick enough more watery than the other ones. $16.95
Thai shrimp curry - the green curry was not spicy enough. More of a mild curry. Not a spicy curry. It wasn't really flavourful. It was ok. $19.95
Rice has to be ordered separate. $2.95
Crab fried shrimp - it was ok. Not flavourful enough. Needs more spices. There was little crab meat, it was not really distinct. $15.95
Tom yum soup - too sour. Not a lot of tom yum flavour just overpowering citrus flavour and not spicy. $7.95
Basil shrimp - it was good, loved it but there was only 6 pieces of shrimp for $18.95 felt like it was overpriced for that portion. It was mostly vegetables.
Garlic beef - the flavour of the garlic beef is really good but the beef is a little tough. It's also a little too salty. $19.95
Thai ice tea - the Thai ice tea is really good but a little on the sweeter side. Creamy and rich. Taste better than most places. $5
Piña colada - pretty good if you like coconut. It's not too sweet.
Mange sticky rice - the mango was hard and really sour. The sticky rice was warm and soft. It was coated with coconut and sesame seeds. $8.95 not worth it.
Washrooms 5/5 - lovely design really unique. It's very spacious. It was really clean and the soap smelt nice. They even have lotion.
I give a 3/5 for the food. 4/5 for the design and cleanliness.
Overall I give this...
Read moreI've actually rarely had a worse experience and never returned food before. Greedy, money grubbing owners. Things went wrong almost immediately when my $7 thai iced tea was all ice in a glass so narrow there must have been like 50mL of actual drink in there and like 2 millimeters of the condensed milk on top. We shared the $30 appetizer platter (which they tried to upsell add ons for) and were kind of disappointed that for that price we didn't even get one fresh spring roll to share between us, at first we thought it was a piece of sushi, like, what do they do with the other 3/4 of the roll, wait for someone else to order another platter? We ordered salad for our mains since we thought it was insulting that they charge extra for the rice that always comes with the curries elsewhere. Still, we were feeling optimistic but then my main came out. I ordered the Thai salad and it was the most bland dish I've ever had, two pieces of tiny "tiger" shrimp and two very thin pieces of unseasoned pale chicken and roughly chopped vegetables that made it feel like eating a grazing board, the sweet vinegar sauce on the side didn't help at all. I felt so disappointed that I did something I never do, I asked if I could kindly order a different dish since absolutely nothing on the dish appealed to me in any way, the manager or owner is who I suspect I was talking to, said she'd bring me peanut sauce but I really felt like that wouldn't help at all, and kindly asked if it would be possible to get another dish, after making it clear at least 5 times in response to her asking that I didn't want the peanut sauce I asked her to stop talking in circles and asked if she'd replace the dish or not. She offered me peanut sauce. At that point I returned the dish and said no thank you to anything he offered, including her attempt to upsell us on dessert.
I'm convinced how dark it is in there isn't for the mood. At this point I'm sure they're even pinching pennies on their...
Read moreFirstly I just wanted to say never go here if you want good service. I was with a group of my friends just to go eat late lunch, and it was not that busy, they made eye contact with us while we were waiting and they never approached us to sit us down. We had to ask them how long we should wait and then they took us to our table which we waited for like 20 mins, and there was lots of tables empty. They didn't even give us the menus when sat, we had to ask for them which took another 10 mins for them to COME BACK with the menus. They didn't even give us water we had to ask, and they never took our orders for at least 25 mins, we had to raise our hand to get their attention. After they took our orders we waited for almost an hour to get a plate of food, are you joking? AND THE BEST PART IS THE FOOD TASTED LIKE SO BAD I felt like nauseous after I ate it. I ordered shrimp pat thai and basically the whole noodle dish was peanuts mixed with bean sprout and rice noodles that were over cooked, and funny thing is that they gave more peanuts on the side. It tasted so bad I was starving and I couldn't finish the plate of tiny food I didn't even finish half of it. My friends and I could no longer eat the food, so we tried to get the waiters attention by raising our hands to ask for the bill and all she did was give us the " ok" sign like as if she knew what we were gonna ask her for. She never came to our table for like 10 mins and we had to ask another waiter and they said they weren't allowed to help us because he wasn't our server, even though we didn't have a server. Then when we finally got to ask them for the bill we asked for separate ones THEY GAVE US THE TOTAL BILL when we asked for SEPARATE BILLS. This overall was a terrible experience and I would never go there EVER again. I wish I can give it zero stars but ill give it one for the interior designing...
