Another GEM in Oakville.
My wife and I recently visited Charmaghz, a Persian Fusion restaurant in Oakville, and it was a truly memorable dining experience.
From the moment we walked in, our server Gabi greeted us warmly and took excellent care of us throughout the meal. We also had the pleasure of meeting Hafiz, the owner and partner, who was incredibly engaging and even offered us a taste of upcoming dishes, creating a welcoming atmosphere that felt both personal and special.
The menu at Charmaghz is a standout feature on its own—curated, creative, and full of personality. Appetizers like “A Piece of Me” (an Afghani salsa with charred eggplant) and “Feta Be Ready” (a spinach feta dip with roasted cauliflower) set the tone with inventive twists on traditional flavors. Entrees range from comforting classics like the Persian Beef or Chicken Kebob—served with mixed herbs and garlic potatoes—to bold creations such as the Afghan Axe, a tomahawk steak paired with Afghani red kidney beans, or Meat Me in Paradise, roasted beef ribs with an Indonesian island sauce. Vegetarian options like “Bean There, Ate That” and “Persian Comfort” make the menu inclusive, while brunch brings even more variety with Afghani-style shakshuka and hearty sandwiches.
For our lunch, I enjoyed the chicken kebab while my wife ordered the Afghan Axe—both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in balancing authenticity with innovation.
The ambiance at Charmaghz is cozy yet elegant, making it equally suitable for a casual lunch, a date night, or a special gathering. Combined with attentive service and a forward-looking “Persian Fusion” concept, Charmaghz has carved out a unique place in Oakville’s dining scene.
Overall, this restaurant delivers not only on taste but also on creativity and hospitality. We left impressed by the food, the atmosphere, and the people behind it—and we’ll absolutely be recommending Charmaghz to friends and family.
Find them on Instagram, TikTok and soon to be on more social media. And the chef owner hopes to maybe present himself on @TOPCHEFCANADA one day. We wish him and his wonderful staff...

Read moreI had brunch/lunch here with my husband and mother in-law, and it was fantastic! I had been wanting to try Charmaghz after seeing ads on instagram and it was worth it.
The service was friendly and highly attentive. The space is on the smaller end but did not feel crowded. The decor and atmosphere are comforting, sophisticated, and cozy.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. My mother in-law had never had Persian food before and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband bas the Four Pan, which is Afghan style shakshuka with beef short rib - it was aromatic, complex, deep flavours with an extremely generous portion of tender, well seasoned meat. My MIL had the Oakville sandwich and had zero leftovers which is saying a lot since she is not usually a big eater! The meat portion in the sandwich was generous, potatoes crisp and seasoned perfectly, and the salad was fresh and flavorful. I had a lighter option, the On My Way, which was fresh pita topped with labneh and a combination of zaatar, nuts, olive oil, herbs, and other fresh veggies. We were very stuffed and satisfied by the end and will definitely be back for lunch or dinner again...
