I came to this eye care centre because of the glowing reviews; however, the customer service that I received was beyond disappointing and unexpected. Dr. Sooklal was pushy and I felt that his main objective during the appointment was just to increase sales by recommending the priciest options, as well as pressuring me to purchase blue light glasses. This made the entire appointment feel unprofessional, as I did not feel like my questions and concerns were adequately addressed or even listened to. Leaving this appointment, I felt also frustrated, as at times there were certain comments made about my vision that made me feel inferior. It's unacceptable that any place should make a customer feel like that. Unfortunately because of my experience, I would not be returning back and please do not reply back with an insincere apology. Read moreWhere do I begin? I walked in without an appointment to simply ask a question about an incident that happened to my eye. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Dr. Sooklal, Dr. Jain and their receptionist Candace. I felt right at home from the get go. I was due for an eye exam and so they took me right away. Needless to say Dr. Sooklal spent SO much time with me explaining every single step and answered all of my questions. He was so incredibly thorough and considerate about my fears and needs and where to go from there. I was fitted into new prescriptions for contacts AND progressive glasses. Within one week I had all that in place and loving it. They are all such an amazing team as well as individuals. Read moreI would avoid this place at all cost! Dr. Sooklal is highly unprofessional, coming across as a pushy sales man than an optometrist. He kept forcing me to get blue llight filtering lenses and doing optional tests, without providing real reasons for why. He was extremely pushy, and even refused to adjust my frames as a punishment just because I didn't quietly agree to his insistence. As a customer/patient it is my choice which optional tests or lenses I choose, but Dr. Sooklaal was clearly putting his balance book before what's best for the patient.
