ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Never seen anything like it. This was my first time there. Tuesday December 17th,. I invited colleagues for lunch. Made a reservation 1 week before. During the online reservation process you're asked what kind of seating you would like. There are three choices outdoors-hightop table -regular table, based on the time of the year there are only two choices that we can click on ,makes sense to me! One of my colleagues including myself are older gentlemen, one has a knee issue and the other has issues with his back , just part of getting old I guess. So I requested a regular table , so we could be comfortable while we had lunch. Well , when we got there, things immediately took a turn, they didn't have a regular table available for us , even though a reservation was made for one. Let me say this as well we didn't get there late , our reservation was for 12:30, we got there on time and in fact a little earlier than. The young man at reception was clearly out of his depth, all he could say was he didn't have table and that I hadn't requested a regular table when I made the reservation. Getting old but I'm still pretty sharp. So, I asked him what was the point of making a reservation if they couldn't fulfil my request? He just kept on repeating the same thing all along. You could clearly see that they had regular tables, which were indeed free but they're excuse was that they were reserved for larger groups. However had they really wanted to they could have accommodated us easily, but they chose not to! They clearly did not mind inconveniencing us , rather than inconveniencing themselves and trying to figure things out. but they chose to push back and say that i hadn't requested that type of table. So, when it was clear that we weren't going no where with this , we just left and had to look for other place right at the peak lunch time.
In hind site I should have asked to speak to the manager. But i didn't want to inconvenience them more than I already had. I have no issue with young people working in the service industry or anywhere for that matter . We were once all young when we began working. But to those who hire young people ,set them up to succeed, the service industry is not an easy place to be. So, train them properly so they can deal with CUSTOMERS adequately!! I'm a resident of Oakville , you can be sure if anyone asks me about Harpers Landing , I not going to be flattering at all! Whom ever runs this location probably won't really care about my review, from what I've been told the place is always full. So who cares if they just lost a few customers!! My lunch guests were not impressed either. Word of mouth it's a powerfull tool.

Read moreThis isn't a good one. A girlfriend and I decided to pop in here because my previous experience was great. This time around not so much.... So let's start off with waiting for a table. We waited a good 30 minutes even though there were several tables close to the front that were empty. I asked and I was told by the manager that they had reservations meanwhile from start to finish from my visit this time those same tables were empty the entire time so who they were reserved for God only knows. When we're finally seated the hostess brought us to the table had wiped it off but there was no cutlery glasses napkins etc nothing set up. The hostess then comes back with the water jug asking if we want water and I said sure that would be nice but we need glasses and cutlery still so unless if you're pouring the water on the table we need stuff. She apologized and then went and got us some cutlery and glasses but still she had sat us down at a table that wasn't actually ready. We order our meals. The one good thing I'll say is the bread was good. I get the cabinara pasta without the bacon. My friend ordered the prime rib. It was the smallest quantity of pasta for $24 I've ever seen! After 5 bites it was gone and my egg was burnt! As you can see from the photo the crusty dark skin around the egg looked exactly like that on the bottom of it. It was a completely burnt fried egg. My friend's prime rib was cold she got another one and it came out piping hot but I guess the seasoning was too spicy for her. Our server was friendly but she was more concerned about the table next to us with 5 people who were ordering wine. My friend ordered a cocktail and the waitress just put it down and literally turned away from her didn't even acknowledge her. We could definitely tell the server was only concerned about tips and not providing quality service. So after my friend complains the manager comes back over to our table and asked what was wrong. We told her she then proceeded to give us a 20% discount. I really don't think that the discount was enough to compensate for all the mishaps with this visit to Harper's landing. After everything is said and done we will not be coming back. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and I'm very disappointed with the quality of service and the food at this location. I've done lots of restaurant reviews as you can see from my profile and I have been to a lot of great establishments. With that being said this place is definitely overpriced and does not meet my standards especially for a boogie place in...
Read moreHarpers Landing in Oakville is a nice, spacious restaurant located at 481 Cornwall Rd, near the QEW. It has a big dining area with also a choice to eat by the bar. It's pretty busy during lunch time, with the community surrounded by both residential and commercial establishments.
I’ve been here several times over the years, and yet I haven’t posted a single review. So today I will just post whatever it is the wife and I ordered. We started with the Crispy Calamari. I highly recommend this starter, most especially if you love picked red chilies and chimichurri flavored aioli. The crispy batter and melt in your mouth squid just oozes with flavor. You might also want to give their Korean cauliflower and Nachos a try. I ordered it in the past, and I just can’t get enough of both.
For my main, I had the Moroccan Curried Chicken. The protein boasts of north African spices as a marinade, in almond butter, basmati rice, cilantro, paired with some raita and grilled naan. It’s a spicy dish, and the naan and raita just complement the spice level.
The wife ordered the Scallop & Bacon risotto. It includes seared jumbo scallops, in a bed of hot risotto, bacon, spinach, grape tomato with parmesan, and fennel honey.
I once had their steak and Parm frites. That is something you should try if you love a good piece of steak. It’s an 8 oz butler streak with garlic and herb parm fries, with truffle aioli and house made demi-glace. This dish is mouth-watering.
As well, the Atlantic Salmon is a favorite of ours, the picture included in this post.
For dessert, the must-try is Sticky Toffee Pudding. Just make sure to order coffee with it. It should compliment the salted caramel on top of the pudding.
The staff is friendly, accommodating, and amazing. They do make recommendations, and they do not disappoint. So if you are in the Oakville-Cornwall Rd area, do give this restaurant a try. You...
