Original Burger Combo with Oreo Shake, $12.65
Textbook Homemade Burger Experience
╒════╡ Main (Burger): ★★★☆☆ ╞════╕
Ingredients: dough, beef patty; customized with: onion, pickle, tomato, lettuce, BBQ sauce, and HARV sauce.
Presentation: ★★★☆☆ - Nice burger, looks a bit deflated for something in its price range. Though, you do have the option to add whatever vegetables you
Aroma: ★★★☆☆ - Smells like sauce because the sauce smells and nothing else does.
Flavour: ★★★★☆ - The patty is too dry and salty for my liking, your mileage may vary. The signature "HARV sauce" has quite the complex taste: a bit like rosé but with a vinegary taste, small bits of pickle, and a mild hint of chili.
Texture: ★★★★☆ - The burger is customizable with a wide range of fresh vegetables (including cured black olives). The patty is too dry to be anything more than an accessory, though.
Value: ★★★☆☆ - Not bad by any means, not exceptional either. A unique burger with a matching price.
╒════╡ Side (Oreo Shake) ★★★★☆╞════╕
An extraordinarily smooth smoothie. The Oreo Shake is basically a vanilla smoothie with Oreo crumbs, which breaks the monotony. The only downside comes with the vanilla base which starts to taste greasy if consumed in large quantities.
The smoothie is fairly well-mixed and melts in about 4 minutes
╒════╡ Environment ╞════╕
Service: ✓ - Exceptional professional staff who let me know as soon as the shake is ready.
Cleanliness: ✓? - No visible stains or odour. The men's bathroom is closed...
Read moreHad an ultimate dining gift card so I thought I would try this location as it was close and it’s been a while since I went to a Harvey’s location in Oakville.
I tried ordering from Harvey’s app but it wouldn’t take the gift card for some reason (tried entering it about three times before giving up and driving there).
Once I arrived at the restaurant there was one person in front of me and two kids behind me. I ordered the “$21.99 Family Bundle (CODE: HAR013)” which I had tried to order on the app unsuccessfully but was unable to customize it because I felt like I was bothering the gentleman behind the counter and also found it hard to hear him. After the order was placed I had to wait for the lady making the burgers to finish up a SkipTheDishes order which would have been quicker if she wasn’t spending 3-5 minutes trying to read each condiment listed (I counted 4-5 on each burger). By the time she got to my order there was now a queue of 8 people either waiting for their order (or to order) which honestly could have been rectified by the cook or someone else helping her out (seeing as that’s a lot of people to be standing around in one area)
By the time I got home and went to eat my food was on the cold side and really not worth the wait. Will probably not be returning to this location unless the younger staff return or they find a more speedy...
Read moreHad lunch Wed, May 21 approx 12:15pm. Appeared to be 4 staff and about 5 to 7 orders placed in the 20 minutes I was there. Approx 14 students came in and sat at 3 tables on side out of sight from staff and were immediately loud, obnoxious and rowdy to the point of tumbling chairs and horseplay . I only noticed 3 of them place food orders and the noise was so loud ( low ceilings) that one adult changed tables to distance himself from them. A staff member did tell them to “cool it “ to no avail. Prior to leaving I asked a male staff member if it was a franchise and he said it was family owned. There was no obvious manager, so I commented to him and the cashier that although I prefer Harvey’s and that location was best for me , this was the 3rd time in 2 months that I experienced the exact same rowdiness by students who were mostly loitering. The staff members were all polite and diligently doing their jobs but that it was very poor for business and I will not be back. The other adult customer looked visibly afraid and ate and left quickly. Clearly there is a need for owner intervention to make it suitable for paying patrons. I would...
