Visited Panera Bread in Mississauga, Winston Churchill/Dundas location.
SERVICE: Service at cashier was okay. My friend had stated that communication wasn't great as he kept saying you can't use the Panera Bread card (it's a points card for perks and bonuses), instead of fully explaining that unfortunately the points card program has been discontinued and the card is no longer being accepted.
ATMOSPHERE: Good, not great. Had a perfect private corner but they had 2 tables for two (2) placed there, when there wasn't the proper spacing or appropriateness to have a conversation. No other tables were that close together. We pushed the tables together as likely no one else would want to sit that close together and there were plenty of other tables and booths available.
FOOD: You can order a "whole" item or Half and Half (two small portions of different items e.g. 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup), plus an apple, petite baguette, or a bag of chips.
Both of us had 1/2 grilled cheese. It was mediocre. My friend had a tomato soup. It was good. I've had it before and it was okay. I also had their Mac & Cheese. I found it way too rich of a sauce to enjoy, and could not eat the half portion. I did not enjoy it and for the first time in a long while, not only did I not eat the small portion, I opted not to take the remainder home. 20 minutes after eating I was unwell. My GI issues persisted for several hours. This is not the first occurrence this has happened while dining there (but to be fair, the previous visit was several years ago). Needless to say, I have no desire to return to this location. Cost was $21.00 for 1/2 grilled cheese and small/half portion of Mac & Cheese incl. tax, not including a drink or tip.
OTHER: You can purchase baked goodies or breads...
Read moreDuplicate transaction. Poor approach.
I ordered the Capreese melt with chips and a cookie & croissant. After paying, I receive my baked goods and proceed to wait. The front desk clerk comes back to me and says the transaction didn't complete. I pulled out my banking app and seen the charge was still there. I showed her the charge is showing on my transactions with no reversal of the charge, so I asked for a cancellation/incomplete transaction receipt. They could not produce it. I was then introduced to a 'Manager' named Jenna. I wish she was a bit more understanding rather than stand-offish, unlike her staff who were pleasant and understanding of the circumstances. Jenna refused to acknowledge that what my transaction records were showing are accurate. She suggested I pay for again and come back for a refund if the original charge goes through. I asked for a formal note with her name and position to ensure I have something tangible to start the conversation at a later date. She scoffed and hand wrote a note on some roll paper. I asked for something more official with her name position and signature.
After paying a second time, she came back with a typed letter with only her first name and no mention she was a manager. She then said she doesn't need to give me anything.
If Jenna was actually a manager, I don't know what she's managing - because she's certainly not managing communication, expectations or the customer experience, let alone her own attitude.
I'm not one to chase 20 some odd dollars, but holy hell could this have been handled with more tact.
I'll be disputing the transaction with my credit card company as a fraudulent transaction once the...
Read moreI love Panera Bread, but “this one” is the worst I’ve ever been before. It’s not worthy to own that name. It took place around 8:52pm on May 26th 2018. We got to the place 38min before the closing time and the lady with apparently attitude took our order, in the main time we were deciding she was not able to hide her uncomfortableness. She barely spoke with us, was not nice and also disrespectful when she took our order as take out and we ordered take-in. She never told us about that, and I asked her why she said she had told us but it was not true, otherwise why my family and me would seat at the table waiting for our soups? Hang on with me.... the nightmare was not over. My mother in law- ordered a soup, but it was the day left-over with water....you could literally see the water covering what was Supposed to be the soup. My husband ordered a cold-mocha, the funny mocha was some bunch of ice and the mocha.....where’d go? If you live in New York and are expecting the amazing Panera Bread food, please don’t.... I totally wasted my money. If you are a visitor or an Canadian customer, you should know these people are not doing it a favor to this amazing country: Canada 🇨🇦. I will always be back to Canada , but will NEVER to get food at this...
