I visited Montana's Oakville yesterday for lunch to celebrate my son's birthday. Let’s start with the positives—our food was absolutely delicious! We ordered beef ribs, large pork ribs, chicken wings, a brisket burger, and a pizza, and everything was cooked to perfection. Our server, Lexie, was friendly and hospitable, making the dining experience a decent one. The ambiance was also great. When I asked if there was any special birthday offer, Lexie kindly brought an ice cream! Now, for the disappointing part—first, the host (unfortunately, I didn't get her name) was extremely unwelcoming. She had no smile, no greeting, and carried an unpleasant expression, making us feel as if we were an inconvenience. When we requested a different table, she silently moved to prepare it, without a single word or even basic courtesy. Initially, we thought she might be having a bad day, but upon observing her interactions with other guests, she was warm and friendly with them—completely different from how she treated us. Secondly, we had to wait almost an hour to get our food after placing the order, which was quite frustrating. The restaurant wasn’t overwhelmingly busy, so the delay was unexpected. I normally wouldn’t bring up racial discrimination, but our experience made us feel exactly that way. It was truly disappointing and left a sour taste despite the great food. The slow service and unwelcoming attitude from the host make me hesitant to return.
Editing after receiving the response from Montana's!! My response to the mail from Montana's offering $30..... it looks like they are returning the tip I paid, which I declined to receive !! Thank you for reaching out and acknowledging my concerns.
While I appreciate the generous $30 offer, I kindly decline. What matters most to me is seeing the management take sincere steps to improve the service levels to ensure that all guests are treated fairly and with respect.

Read moreAs a chain business it's great. This specific store though is a bit odd. People and service are great but somehow the kitchen never really delivers the goods. If you go expecting great cafeteria food with an hour long preparation time you will be very satisfied.
If one orders the mass production items like ribs or roast chicken it will be great.
If one orders something like a steak it's a toss up on what will arrive and if it will be freshly cooked or heated up. For example a few weeks ago I ordered a steak cooked medium. It took 50 minutes to arrive and when it did it was sliced into 4 or 5 pieces and appeared and tasted on the dry side as if it had been warmed up. The server said they had no idea why it was sliced up and offered to get another cooked. But who wants to wait another 50 minutes so I chose to eat it. Fortunately they put all the sauces on the table so miscues can be drowned in your favourite flavour. The restaurant was only 1/3 full. It should not take this long.
On another visit I ordered grilled salmon with the whiskey fire thing flavour and it arrived well prepared. I recommend this menu item. Though the wait time to food delivery was no shorter.
Despite the lengthy food prep at this location we keep coming back to this location as it is near our home. Though we do ask how long the kitchen is taking tonight before getting seated so we can dial in the right expectations. Call me difficult but I feel that a family should not have to wait more than 20 minutes to get the main course delivered to a table. After all it's a chain with a refined operating process.

We been here a few times before as my daughter enjoys it and no issues then you know
came with drink and wrong drinks so one of my daughters was left waiting for 10min for hers
our food arrived together, but one of my daughters ordered from kids menu and requested pizza. They brought out a burger. After 5 min or so waitress came back to check in. Told her food was wrong. She apologized and said she will bring out the pizza. Literally came back in seconds!!!! Like how fast can you make a pizza. As you can see from image - it’s clearly 2 different pizzas. Darker pizza was hard! Fries were cold and soggy!! That’s just gross !! Apologized again and brought out a fresh hot one with new fries. By this time my 8 year old was starving!!
spoke to manager to let him know. I don’t care for excuses of weather and staff not showing up or calling last minute. Again if a 10 year old can spot excuses it’s saying something. To rectify they offered free dessert and waived kids meal
brought out the complimentary dessert (mini donuts that are always my daughters favourite). Clearly recall those being warm. Not this time. Cold. Hard. On top of it 2 different servers bought separate orders. There was no communication and stood there staring at each other wondering why.
By this time I was done and didn’t even have energy to even mention the cold hard donuts. My daughter ate them as she loves them
