My partner and I really wanted to love this place. At first, it seemed like a cozy mom and pop Peruvian bistro. It had nice decor, music, and the service was good. The food, unfortunately, was as far from authentic as Peru is from Canada.
I've been to Peru several times, have Peruvian family, and regularly eat both homemade and restaurant Peruvian food. My partner and I both agreed that we had the worst "Ceviche Classico" and chicha we've ever had, with the ceviche being by the winner as the disappointment of the evening.
First, my partner and I each ordered a chicha morada, and both were equally awful. We should have taken that as a sign of things to come. It tasted like a combination of watered-down Welch's grape juice, cinnamon, and mint. There is no way it could have been made with corn or quince. It must have been some type of cheap, powdered pre-mix. Terrible.
Then, my partner's papa a la huancaína appetizer arrives. This was the only part of the dinner that was enjoyed. It looked and tasted good.
Then the ceviche arrived, mine first. It didn't look right. The leche de tigre was a bright orange and looked like someone dumped the wrong mount of chili in it, especially since both were ordered mild. I taste-tested the sauce and it tasted as bad as it looked. It didn't resemble leche de tigre in any way. I have no idea what that sauce was, but it did not belong in any dish attempting to be ceviche. That wasn't the worst part though. The cut of MahiMahi used was terrible. It tasted old. My partner's was even worse --- tasted and even smelled old.
The ceviche was so bad that it scored two lifetime firsts for me; the first time I have left ceviche unfinished on my plate, and the first time I had to tell people that just sat down next to me not to order it (since I overheard their considerations). I hope I spared them our experience.
We usually go to Wavey Ceviches in Mississauga, which is the gold standard, and regretted diverging....

If you're searching for an authentic Peruvian culinary experience in Oakville, look no further than Pisac o n Upper Middle Road.. From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff person set the stage for an exceptional dining experience.
We started with a selection of appetizers that showcased the freshness and depth of Peruvian flavors. The grilled octopuswas tender, smoky, and perfectly charred. The ceviche was a masterpiece—full-bodied, packed with seafood, and bursting with citrus and spice. The calamari was cooked to perfection—light, crispy, and incredibly flavorful.
For the main course, we were equally impressed. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, rich, and deeply satisfying. The beef and rice dish was perfectly seasoned and comforting. The duck leg was exquisite—crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside, and paired with incredible flavors. The seafood risotto was creamy, indulgent, and packed with ocean-fresh goodness.
Beyond the outstanding food, the service was truly superior. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about Peruvian cuisine, making excellent recommendations and ensuring that every dish was enjoyed to the fullest.
This was a five-star experience from start to finish. Whether you're a longtime lover of Peruvian food or trying it for the first time,Pisac is a must-visit in Oakville. Highly...
Read moreI had visited this restaurant for a few times with my friends and family, the experience of the service and food are great, the young lady and the young chef both are very friendly and she is even a bartender to prepare us the drinks as well. However, yesterday was our first time to order a take out by phone, we ordered a whole rotisserie chicken with 3 sides as usual, the person who picked up the phone told us it only comes with 2 sides which we thought that they may have changed their menu, I went to the restaurant to pick up the take out and take a look their menu again and it shows that the whole rotisserie chicken comes with 3 sides not as the person said on the phone it only comes with 2 sides. I asked that person who is more of a senior age, he told me I gave you more quantity of the sides but I told him this is not right if your menu didn’t change then you should provide what’s on the menu but he seems to like to change the quantity whenever he like. Anyway, after the conservation with him, he gave me back the 3rd side. When I got home, the size of all the sides are just the same as we had dine in (didn’t see more quantity as he said) the whole chicken size was so much smaller than dine in. Please watch out this dishonest service when you order the take out from them.
I really hope that they could keep the same quality all the time, because we like their rotisserie chicken very much and we also really like their grilled...
