I’m so disappointed in my experience at this location today. I hate to write anything negative, or to even call out my server by name, but this was completely unacceptable service. My parents and I all ordered waters to drink, and our server Sophiya had accidentally dropped the glass, spilling the water on the table and getting it all over me. Of course this was an accident and she was apologetic so I completely understood. She offered to move us to a new table but the staff came to wipe up the table and floor and we chose to stay. She never ended up bringing a third glass of water to the table, and we waited a solid 15 minutes for the bill after asking for it once the meal was done. The restaurant was not busy; she was serving one or two other tables at most. My dad had a CAA card that gives you a free appetizer, and when the bill came, we noticed that there was no comp or discount on the bill for the inconvenience from earlier. When he brought it up she tried to play it off that the free app was the discount, even though that was already established as being free from the CAA card at the beginning of the service. None of us were expecting for the entire meal to be comped, maybe just mine, or even a discount off the meal since I was still wet even when leaving the restaurant. When I brought up to her that she should be offering something to acknowledge the accident, there was no response. I mentioned to Sophiya that had that not been ice water, if it was pop or coffee it would have been even worse, and it completely went over her head. I’m sure she was shaken from dropping the glass, but the idea that the incident wasn’t brought up with a supervisor on how to go forward afterwards leaves such a poor taste...
Read moreI have to give 1 star because of how we were treated. We’ve gone here a few times and everything was okay but tonight was insane.
We were seated in a relatively busy part of the restaurant but not one person in a half hour acknowledged us to take our order or ask us if we were served. I noticed the manager cleaning tables and looked over at us a few times but nothing more than that. Other tables were served around us but the server left without even looking in our direction.
If it was a simple understaffing issue I can understand, we’re very okay with waiting and being patient but when staff stand around laughing and talking in large groups and not bother to see if we are okay is just wrong.
The manager said it was a miscommunication but that is such a lazy excuse when he himself was there cleaning tables and doing not much more than that. As a manager he should have been more on top of what was going on. Our menus were pushed off to the side to show we were waiting to be served. How is it our job to get someone to come serve us?
The last straw was someone getting seated and not 5 minutes later we’re being served.
Im sorry. In a half hour no one asked us if we were okay, INCLUDING THE MANAGER?! What kind of service is that?
And to have him rush out to us to try to retain our service by begging us is pathetic. If he cared he would have done something in the time we were seated. Do better.
I understand in this age it’s tough being in the service industry that’s why we were sitting patiently but to have absolutely no one bother to talk to us while we very clearly indicated we were ready is unacceptable.

Read moreTonight kids and I visited the Swiss Chalet at Upper Middle and Eighth Line in Oakville. It has been under renovations for the past 9 months. Let me say the wait was completely worth it, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home like usually is the case here.
The new look is extremely eye catching, super clean, spacious, and well-organized, with a comfortable atmosphere perfect for a family meal. Our server - Bianca, was attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our visit.
Of course, the highlight was the food! Swiss Chalet never disappoints, and this location truly exceeded our expectations. Although I didn’t go with the traditional rotisserie chicken l did go with their delicious Ultimate Burger. The kids loved their meals too, which came with generous portions and tasty desserts to round off the meal.
We appreciated the efficiency of the service; despite it being newly re-opened and busy busy evening, our meals were served promptly and with a smile. The restaurant’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is always evident with each of our visits.
