Unfortunately not a great experience after having heard many good things about this place.

We arrived at our 6:30pm booking and were straight away advised that we were required to leave at 8pm for the next booking. Keep in mind this was a Friday night, and we were looking forward to a nice (long) dinner.

I requested that we were sat at another table as we planned on staying a while, however this was not accommodated for. Our waitress basically yelled at us and sat us at a massive table that was not suitable for two. The majority of the other tables in the restaurant were empty and our server stated they were held for other reservations. However, we were basically kicked out at 8pm when the restaurant had so many empty tables , it was a terrible dining experience.

From the get-go, it felt rushed and forced. Our waitress was rushing us to order and she was constantly coming up to the table within minutes asking us to order food.

Our server was did not introduce herself to us and she knew seldom regarding the menu and drink options.

We ended up staying for a few drinks, and going to another restaurant for dinner to get the service we were expecting.

Overall disappointed and dissatisfied with this...

Probably my favourite spot in all of Windsor. The place has a great vibe and outgoing, fun staff. But let’s be real - the most important parts are the food and drinks in which they are KILLING it. My fiancé and I have gone multiple times for date night, double date night and family night. I think I’ve suggested this restaurant to about every person I know. This spot is unlike anything else in our town and that’s a great thing. I’d say we’ve tried almost every item on the menu - including drinks and were never disappointed- more so, we May even LOVE 95% of what we try. Side note * yes, portions are small BUT the food and drinks and ambiance is just so great that even though the bill adds up I think people would be thrilled to spend that money (unless they’re not foodies like myself). Here are some photos solely from last night: sorry some have already been picked at! Not pictured and just realizing now is their beef tataki, solely due to the fact that I inhale it upon arrival. It is a MUST TRY. Hope you enjoy as...

This was my first visit to Funky Chow as I am from Oakville. My wife and I decided to stop in and have sushi just out of the blue and we are ecstatic that we did. We have frequented many a sushi restaurants, usually the all you can eat kind so for the most part we can tell the difference between good and bad sushi/ sashimi as well as fresh verses aged sushi/ sashimi and we both were extremely surprised at just how incredible their food was. Every single bite was just phenomenal. I would 1000% recommend this location as the go to spot for sushi. We had about 5-6 dishes and a dessert which came to just under $100 with an 18% tip. If your thinking all you can eat for quantity, I'd say you should think again and go for quality because your taste buds will worship you for doing so. A must try at least once. I know if we lived in Windsor we would find a way to eat here weekly.

Enjoy.

P.S. 10 stars out of 5. Yes it really was that good. Do not take my word for it. It...

I've been looking for a good poke bowl since I came back from my Hawaii trip several months ago, and I finally found one I enjoy in Windsor at Funky Chow Kitchen! From what I tried in Windsor, other places have a very small amount of tuna compared to the portion of veggies&rice and/or the sauce was not very tasty, but the poke bowl here was made just right! I love the vibe here too! Reason for removing 1 star is it was quite pricey for the portion size I received. I don't have a big appetite, but still felt hungry after a $24 poke bowl. Also I was with 2 friends and we received our foods at completely different times. I assume this was because this place is more of a bar to grab drinks + shareable snacks rather than a formal sit down restaurant, however for the prices they charge I would expect them to be mindful of these details. Make sure to make reservations if you are going, because it is a very popular place even on a Thursday night!

I absolutely love the Asian theme. The wall-art is amazing. I had the 3 for 11$ bao. The Tofu was creamy and juicy. The pork belly was crispy and had bbq flavour on it. The kimchi chicken was crispy, tangy and spicy. The spice level was tolerable. I was on my own trying to beat my social anxiety. But i couldn’t find the right vibe to socialize with strangers lol. This is a great place for friends and family to hang out. The atmosphere is not too noisy and music is comforting for people to hang out casually. Adam helped me with a few suggestions in the neighbourhood for a good drink. My night eventually turned out to be great.
