I was going through the Drive Thru to see how the experience would be at the Highway location in Orillia. Admittedly, the order taking was a bit slow as no one acknowledged me despite being parked at the speaker for a bit. I was told to drive up to the second window after payment, and that is when things started to go wrong as it took a while. A novice crew member brought out my food but forgot my drinks so I had to point out that I was missing the drinks and the McFlurry. That took another several minutes to get. Once I got it, I wanted a receipt (which should've been in the bag), so the crew member went back to get it. While he was doing so, I had just noticed that the drinks were wrong (ordered Frappes but got Lattes instead), so I told the person once he came back that this is not what I had ordered. At this point, I told him that I just wanted a manager for the combination of continuous mistakes, slow order processing (order taken at 6:23pm/refunded at 6:50pm), and pure incompetence.
The area manager came to the window to let me know that she was sorry for all the mistakes and that she'd be happy to make things right. When she noticed that the over-filled cups kept on making a mess in the interior of my car, she offered to get me napkins (which also weren't in the bags) and get me the new drinks as well. After all the waiting, I noticed that the food was going cold (and the fries were getting soggy), so I told her at that point that I'd be coming in for a complete refund as I had just lost my appetite. She happily obliged and provided a refund completely. She asked whether I still wanted the drinks and I refused. All of this was done with complete professionalism, and I commend the manager for the amount of amazing customer service she has demonstrated tonight. She was courteous, respectful, and kind throughout this mess and despite none of this being her fault, she kept calm and patient in trying to solve the issue. She reassured that she wants me to leave the restaurant happy, and while that was difficult to do, I certainly left the restaurant with a positive impression of her endeavour for customer satisfaction. Read moreMcDonald's here in Orillia, Ontario, on Hwy 12, is generally an OK place to eat. Today at the drive through however was not good. I ordered a Filet-O-Fish sandwich, which are normally very good, tender, flaky, and the bun fresh and delicious. Today the first bite should have been my last. The bun was dried out and hard to bite through, like it was either badly freezer burned, or over heated in a microwave. I couldn't even tell how the fish filet was because the bun was so horrible. We were already across town by the time I took a bite so I wasn't going back. But I hope someone from Hwy 12 McDonald's in Orillia sees this and figures out how they could put out a product this bad. I'm currently feeling a little queasy, but hope I don't actually get sick from this Filet-O-Fish. Oh, and sense I'm reviewing drive through service; we pulled up to a squak box to order our food and the person on the other side was ordering theirs. They finished and pulled ahead to pay and pick up. We anticipated being next, as we were the next to arrive, and the next in line. As we waited quite a while, we were getting a little anxious. Read moreWent in and ordered 6 meals and when we got our meals we were missing 2 happy meals and a medium fry. I went back twice to get the rest of the order and the person who filled the order was not nice. When I told her that I didn’t get my happy meals. She said oh that’s probably why there’s an empty box here. So she gave me my happy meal. Then I had to go back because we are still missing the rest of our order. She started claiming to everyone that there’s no way she would have made that much of an error on an order. I told her here’s the receipt and the foods in the table. To go and check. I wasn’t trying to get anything for free just the food I paid for. She kept on referencing that she didn’t make a mistake. Another associate came up and I told her what was happening while the other worker was loud and still ranting that there’s no way she made that big of an error. I was not happy at all. The other associate asked me what was missing and finished filling the order. She also gave me an extra fry which I told I didn’t want. Just the food I had ordered.
