For years, my family and l have been going there. I have always talked highly of the food, service, and the decor. Highly recommended it to everyone. I will say the last couple of times, l have gone there it has been a big disappointment. A sign on the door make you aware that they are short staff. And agian l understand, seeing l have worked in the food industry for many years. With that being said. After waiting and waiting to be seated, we were finally told to seat our self. Unfortunately they were lots of tables available but they were all full of dirty dishes. Shortly after, I asked for two cups of coffee and water. After receiving my coffee, I noticed I had pink lipstick all the way around my cup, so I patiently waited, trying to get the waitress attention. After 10 minutes of waiting, I finally walked to the other side of the room to only see her behind the bar playing on her phone. When receiving our food, it was cold. The bacon was limp like a noodle, couldn't even get a second cup of coffee. After waiting patiently for the bill, we finally just went to the counter and asked for it. "Sorry it will not allow me to print one. I guess l'm just paying. Overall, it's not a good experience. A week later, I decided to give it another try with my husband. Needless to say, it was worse. I again had asked for water, coffee, and a pop. Coffee came, no pop and water. Food came and the same thing. The food was cold, and potatoes and bacon were disgusting. I pushed my plate aside. Having to ask again for pop. My husband very rarely complains about food, and if he's complaining, that says a lot. The tables were no different, empty and full of dirty dishes. I have a lot of respect and understanding when it comes to people working in the food industry. But when you have more time to play on your phone and show no concern for the paying customers. Not once were we asked if the food was ok, or if we would like more coffee. All around bad service. Sorry but you have lost...
Read moreI had ordered a drink, app, entree and mini donuts to share with my friend. The recipe for the mac n cheese bites has changed and unfortunately, I did not like them whatsoever. I found them flavourless, besides the pieces of green onion in it. The menu didn't say there were onions, I wish it did because I wouldn't have gotten them and wasted my money. Close to $10 I could've spent on something else. My mistake - the old ones were really good, I didn't know they had changed the recipe as it was still the same menu item with no wording changed, as it has always been. It tasted only of those onions and the breading/batter. There were 6 and I ate two, as I didn't want food to go to waste but I couldn't continue after those two . The server asked if I wanted it boxed up, I kindly refused and explained why I didn't like them and was okay with them being tossed instead of keeping it to go. She became very dramatic and loud. "Really? Everyone else likes them!! They're better than our old recipe!! We actually make them here now. You seriously don't like these? Why don't you like them?" She had became so loud that other diners were staring which ultimately just became uncomfortable and I wanted to leave. My entree was good (Shepherds Pie), I wasn't warned that the plate was scolding hot so I burnt my hand. I expected it to be warm but not hot enough to burn myself. I had ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake donuts and was very excited because they're known for their great donuts, but I figured they would have more toppings than a little strawberry drizzle and a few sliced cherries. It wasn't my worst experience but far from a great one. I use to go weekly, but that was a few years ago. I will give them another try in the future, as I don't want to immediately just declare it's a bad place by one experience. Hopefully next time is...
Read moreMy friends and I used to love it here. I have been back twice since the new management had taken over and it has been terrible since. The portions have changed, the service has declined, and the quality of the food is unacceptable.
The first time was for dinner. I got chicken Parm with no green pepper and a poutine on the side, my poutine was cold and my first chicken Parm had green peppers in it, they made me a new one and when it came back it was NEARLY RAW CHICKEN. On top of that, the chicken Parm used to take up most of the plate, now it is the size of a chicken breast from food basics. My friend got a Shepard's pie and said it was awful. I thought maybe it was just a fluke the first time around.
I went today with my girlfriend for breakfast, hoping to salvage what I once loved of this restaurant, but i was sorely disappointed. My sausage was undercooked, my eggs were cold, the home fries are now bland and boring, and after we were seated we had to wait just to get a glass of water.
It is clear the servers don't like to work there anymore based on who they are taking orders from. The new manager (I don't know her name, red hair) yelled at the poor girl working the cash over a $6 discrepancy right in front of my girlfriend and I while we waited to pay for almost 7 minutes. The girl taking our payment obviously looked defeated and the manager was TALKING AT HER WHILE WE WERE PAYING.
Unacceptable behaviour from the managerial staff, poor food, poor everything. I used to love this place, and now I will never...
