The owners are amazing. My brother and I decided to order a couple dishes off Uber Eats, but in doing so, there was a malfunction with the app in which it didn’t let us use our credits so we had to pay the price in full. Upset with this, my brother contacted Uber and they cancelled our order. Unfortunately the order had already gone through to Shanghai Bistro and Uber advised us to go pick the food up ourselves even though we placed delivery. When we went, my brother explained the situation to the owner in which he said he was also not paid due to Uber’s cancellation. My brother stated he would pay, but the owner just told us that it was okay to take the meal without paying and to use their website directly to place orders. When we got home, my brother called the restaurant again and insisted on paying, but the owner declined. They didn’t have to, but we are very appreciative of their kind gesture. Going on to their food, we had ordered the general tao chicken combo and the house special fried rice. To start, the chicken was not dry and it was a good portion size for its price. Not to mention, it came with a spring roll and some wonton soup. The house special fried rice is my favorite, it is so flavorful and full of ingredients. They were not stingy whatsoever with the shrimp (unlike some restaurants). Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Chinese cuisine.

A friend introduced me to this place Monday, and I toon my wife here last night. Of you are tired of seeing the same menu items and tasting the same Canadianised flavors of a typical Chinese restaurant, this place is for you! We have tried 8 dishes we have never seen anywhere before and were impressed with them all. All ingredients were fresh, nothing at all seemed pre-packaged. For those like the usual chop Suey, general Tao, chow mein, fried rice sort of stuff don't worry, they have it too. It is a very clean and sanitary environment, service is efficient and friendly. We have no complaints! Special suggestions: -Thier dim sum are made fresh by hand, no steamed from frozen! -The Jellyfish is a definite must try if you like mollusks, it's similar in flavor and texture. -The Octopus balls looked and tasted like Top Chef material. -The soup filled dim sum was unique -the special Beef Noodle Soup was fantastic, though extra salty. It had huge chunks of tender braised beef! Enjoy!

Totally deserving of it's Google rating. This little Shanghainese gem pumps out dishes with mouth warming flavours in an unpretentious eating cafe. Soup filled dumplings which explode in your mouth careful hot, hot, hot. Boiled dumplings stuffed heavy with pork, shrimp and veggie, juicy not dry. Beans in garlic, tender, the light sauce warms your lips after each mouthful. Fresh squid tender not tough in succulent teriyaki sauce that dribbles down your chin with each slender morsel you pop in your mouth. The savory flavor of the pork belly enhanced by the fiery chilies. Pork belly, chili, onion and rice on each bite an orgasm of flavor. To cap the meal off, savory red bean pancakes. Every plate cleaned to the last morsel as to leave a shred of food evidence would be a crime for this indulgence. I've found a gem to hike down to from Blenheim every couple of weeks. I'm already planning what I want to try next. I want to apologize for the rave but I just had to. Nov 29th visit.⁹

We stopped by this place to pick up dinner after crossing the Ambassador Bridge from Detroit. It can be very busy over the weekend, so you may want to avoid peak hours. Their menu features a good combination of traditional Chinese cuisine, and Westernized Chinese dishes, like General Tso chicken. Dim Sum is also featured in the menu as well. However, you may want to be aware that some dishes' flavor has been localized to fit the local taste. When we ordered the Pork with Garlic Sauce, we couldn't help but notice the strong augmentation of maple syrup added to the dish. Although it gave an unique flavor, it was something that we didn't expect. Otherwise, all other dishes and dim sums were done very tastefully.

Ahhhh did I just get unlucky?? I went here after seeing Windsor Food Spotters suggest this as a good Chinese restaurant. The sauce I received was chunky and gelatinous, like Jell-O. It made the whole meal slimy and unenjoyable.. the fried rice was very plain, luckily I had soy sauce on hand as there was none included Sorry for the brutally honest review.. I know I didn't order from the "authentic" menu but I was really looking forward to this place and it's hard to rate highly when other places like rose garden provide better quality at lower prices, or Saigon House for similar pricing but significantly better quality. The only good part I'd say was the included chili oil sauce

Usually at Chinese restaurants the food seems like you're eating someone's reheated left overs but you go back anyway just cause it's quick and convenient food open late. However at this place I was quiet impressed with the variety, value, and price for the great quality food I had. I ordered the Shanghai noodles with BBQd pork, chicken, and shrimp. Accompanied by their home made fresh dumplings/wontons. It was amazing. Highly recommend! Owner and service is very friendly and helpful when selecting what to get from the menu. Clean place, and has a good amount of regular customers. Great price for the quality you get.
