Ordered chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, fried pork dumplings in a combo, and chicken fried rice on its own. Chicken balls were not balls but literally tiny thumb sized fingers. Barely any chicken in them. All breading and so overcooked you cannot poke them with a fork or barely bite into them. The dumplings were overcooked but were the only edible and decent things in my meal. The rice should be called onion fried rice because there's more huge chunks of onion in the rice than there is chicken (or rice, I'd argue). No flavor or color to the rice at all other than overwhelming onion. Complete waste of $30. Will not be ordering again.
Update: my mom was really not happy with her food, and since it was our first time trying Shin Shin in a long time, she thought it would be nice to call and let them know about our experience so they knew to make improvements. Person she spoke to was very rude and they said that they haven't had any bad reviews or complaints in over 6 months, but there are several bad ones on Google within the last 3 to 4 months. They offered her a small percentage off her next order, even though we told them the food was inedible and went in...
Read moreI ordered at Shin Shin at 3 pm for food at 6. Plenty of time to figure out logistics. Still not here at 6 - that’s fine, we just want an honest ETA - so we call at 645, they say the driver was on the road and would be with us soon. Call at 7, they say they’ll call us back 2 minutes. Call at 8, they say it’s on its way.
Then we call Shanghai Bistro. They say it will take up to 2 and a half hours. I say of course that’s fine, as long as they’re honest about the timeline.
It is now 830. 5 and a half hours since we made the order. Still no word from ShinShin.
The difference in service from these two places is immeasurable. If Shanghai can be honest, responsive and realistic, why can’t ShinShin? Say what you want, but I order out almost every New Year’s Eve. I’ve never had an experience anywhere CLOSE to this. And I will gladly vote with my dollar to support the business with honesty and integrity over the one with excuses and empty promises.

Read moreThis restaurant was recommended by my friend and after trying it, it has been one of my favourite spots to come to for Chinese food. I ordered the beef lo mein, the sweet and sour chicken balls, and the cheese wontons. The food always seems to be made on the spot as it is extremely hot when taking it out of the takeout bag. To start, the beef lo mein is very flavourful with a good amount of beef. Although the container seems small, it is indeed a large portion in which you can share with others.
The sweet and sour chicken balls are a must have. Unlike other restaurants that provide more batter to their chicken balls, this restaurant does not which allows you to taste the actual chicken piece. This also allows the chicken ball to stay nice and crispy rather than becoming soggy overtime. The cheese wontons were also quite tasty and fried fresh upon order. Overall, I would recommend this place for those craving Chinese food and will continue to be a...
