I have mostly had great experiences at this Starbucks until very recently. Tonight someone took my order through the drive through who didn’t speak English very well. They did try to repeat my order back to me, and say the word “decaf”, so I assumed the order was taken correctly. I believe that the same person who took my order made my drink. It didn’t say “decaf” on the order sticker so I asked the lady (who was an excellent long-term employee, not the same person who took the order or made the drink) if it was in fact decaf. She asked the guy who took my order/made the drink if it was decaf and he said “no”. She dumped that one and he made me another (same guy made it a second time). I drank half of the new drink thinking it was decaf but it was not. I have a health condition and am not supposed to have any caffeine. I couldn’t believe the guy, who took my order and made it wrong once made it caffeinated again!! Whatever his situation is, someone who doesn’t speak English well enough to understand these things, or can’t pay attention to basic things like this is a liability to Starbucks’ typical excellent customer service. I am really disappointed and it seems Starbucks’ hiring practices are not what they used to be. Incidentally this is the third time in a row that I’ve ordered a decaf and had it made full caffeine (but usually people have it correctly made decaf after the error is...
Read moreVery bad experiences while here for a work trip. Drinks watered down and made incorrectly daily over a two week stay.
Biggest concern is the fact that we were being incorrectly charged for our drinks. What is normally around $4 drink in Toronto & Durham region turned into an over $8.00 drink at this location. They claim that if we wanted cream instead of milk in a Grande Misto it would be almost $1 more. Never heard of milk preferences being charged additional for. Starbucks has been marketing themselves for years as a specialty/ customizable coffee shop. With the crazy prices already, I am quite certain they do not fuss about the type of milk being used or the sweetness level of my peach green tea.
I was extremely busy and in a rush for work and did not want to argue but I know for fact they almost doubled the price for all the drinks I paid for. I did make a complaint to the HQ and they agreed also with me that it seemed absurd and not correct.
Sadly even the one time remedy to throw $$$ at my issue will not solve the fact that they are making drinks incorrectly/ cheaply to save in their own laziness to order more supplies or the franchisee wants to rip off people for the drinks and conserve supplies. It does not solve their problem with overcharging people also.
This is not the only Place I experienced these practices in Kingston and never...
Read moreThis location is honestly hit or miss. Sometimes it’s problem free if ordering on the app but the drive thru is horrendous and the parking lot is so small and cramped that even on light days there’s no parking.
The employees are all over. Sometimes they are polite, other times they seem to have issues. One time they claimed BOGO wasn’t applicable despite the fine print saying otherwise. Another time I ordered and due to it being busy I waited in the corner away from everyone. There were 4 people waiting for mobile orders and they weren’t in a line. When they all left and I was the next to pickup their mobile an employee decides now is the time to yell across the store and tell me to stand right next to the doorway? I don’t understand. I stood where the arrows said and I didn’t want to stand next to the doorway where everyone’s going by. You can’t win with the Covid garbage and this location has rubbed me the wrong way too many times now.
Edit: tried it again, mobile order. No place to stand to get my order so I stand in a corner and once again instead of asking the name of my order they tell me not to stand there. Where do we stand? There’s doors right there, there’s people everywhere, the drive thru stretches onto the road blocking traffic. Get rid of...
