I recently had a disappointing experience with Megabus on August 17th when I traveled from Kingston, Ontario, to Toronto Pearson Airport. The bus was supposed to take me directly to the airport, but it unexpectedly terminated at Union Station without any prior notice. There was no announcement on the bus, and I only realized something was wrong when I saw my luggage being removed from the bus while looking out the window. When I stepped outside to ask, I was told that the bus wouldn’t be continuing to the airport—something that should have been communicated well before we reached Union Station.
This caused a huge inconvenience, as I specifically booked this service to avoid transfers and delays. Instead, I was forced to walk through a maze of underground concourses with my luggage and take the UP Express train, resulting in significant delays and unnecessary stress. I understand that disruptions can happen, but the lack of communication and clear alternatives from Megabus left passengers completely in the dark.
To make matters worse, Megabus has done little to make this right. Despite the inconvenience and the fact that I didn’t receive the service I paid for, the company has only refunded the bare minimum for my train fare, with no real apology or effort to offer compensation. I’ve had to fight for over a month just to get that refund, and I still haven’t heard anything from Megabus since September 18. This speaks to a serious lack of accountability and customer care.
While these types of issues can happen, it’s how a company responds that really matters—and in this case, Megabus has failed to do so in any meaningful way. I expected much better communication and service recovery from a company of this size, and unfortunately, my experience was far from...
Read moreHORRIBLE!!! i’m a 17 year old female and i booked a ticket for the megabus to see my sick grandfather for easter. my departure time was 7:35 but the tracking app said my bus was delayed until 8:38. logically thinking we did not leave the house because my dad did not want me sitting at the bus stop for over an hour in a very dangerous part of trenton. I then checked the tracking again 20 mins later it said i had missed my bus??? i called the customer service number to request to take the 1:35 bus since i had no chance to take the one i paid for, i talked to oeshina the supervisor, she was very rude and belittling, she claimed she couldn't do anything for me and just mentioned the terms and conditions over and over again, even after i told her about my grandfather, she had absolutely NO compassion or any signs of human decency to try to help resolve the issue. my dad also called and they again said there was nothing they could do, i couldn't take it unless i paid AGAIN after paying $128 for a ticket there and back, they took the money i spent on the first ticket and i was not provided the service, THAT IS FRAUD. then they hung up on my dad and denied him service after he said he had more questions. this was not an issue on my part, their tracking system was not accurate and i wasn't able to access the service i paid for. absolutely horrible company. do not support!!! do better by your customers, we pay for overpriced tickets just to get places in desperate times, we deserve the time of day. whoever oversees this complaint please advise whoever oeshinas supervisor is to train her better, she is in customer service and needs to learn how to act...
Read moreThis review is not about Megabus or Coach Canada. Just the 'Bus terminal'.
During the day, there is a decent cafeteria/store from where you can buy refreshments. The washroom is okay but not the best maintained. Seating for waiting passengers is basic and I saw elderly and children standing several times.
I discovered an all new side to this place on a rainy summer night with a 1.5 hour stop here on the way to montreal. The doors were all closed. No access to stores or washrooms. Everyone was waiting outside exposed to the elements. People were going around the building looking to find a door that opened. I saw a couple of people braving the rain to find a secluded spot in the bushes to relieve themselves. I'm from a part of the world the west considers 'third world' and we have 24/7 amenities at most bus stations there, even ones serving a bus or two the whole night.
I wanted to refill my water bottle so I could pop a pill. No luck. I was going to ask for it from kind passengers or get this...collect some rain water from the gutters, before the kind driver saw my desperation and filled it for me from the staff-only bathroom.
Someone ordered Uber Eats to the bus station.
Wow, I hate bus...
