It is not an authentic Japanese restaurant. None of its items were shown in Japanese, you can find English and Cantonese menus instead. I took seafood teriyaki rice which costed 14.5 before tax. It was in HongKong-Japanese style which is far different from authentic Japanese cuisine. The taste was not dreadful though. It was acceptable with somewhat less amount of seafood on top of rice than expected, while plenty supply of green bean sprout and onion were there. No constipation is expected LOL. The teriyaki sauce was a bit too much but it was appetizing. The place was clean. I was urged several times for making order. Since I was unable to make up my mind in short time so I found that a bit unfriendly. The green tea costed me 1.25 with little taste, but they did refill the tea a few times. It is not an authentic Japanese one, but is far better than those so-called Japanese cuisine which are actually run by Korean in the city of London LOL. Tanakaya Japanese Restaurant is a cozy little spot in Covent Garden Market that left me thoroughly impressed. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to find that they had a delicious option for me - the miso ramen with dumplings was simply fantastic!

The lady serving us was incredibly accommodating and displayed the utmost courtesy throughout our meal. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience, which made the visit all the more memorable.

To complement the meal, I tried their boba tea, and it didn't disappoint! The blend of flavors was perfect, and it added a refreshing touch to the entire lunch.

We e the only patrons the evening we visited. Finding the place was near impossible! The market was closed and the back alley entry took assistance to find though very well lit. Good was good and well prepared. Correct temperature and fresh. Service mediocre and seemed disinterested in us. Pricing must be related to the rent because it was expensive. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here at all but it's not a destination. Perhaps takeout is a better option here? A lacklustre dining experience and we won't be back.
