The Thirsty Butler Sports Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Ontario

Walked into the restaurant while at the art walk the other day. My friend and I couldn’t sit outside since all the tables were full, so we went inside. We sat down at a table right next to the door. We sat there for about 7-10 minutes and not one of the waiters came up to our table, I had to walk to the bar and ask for a menu. Didn’t apologize for not giving us one or seeing us yet, but kind of laughed when the menu was handed over and it was higher then where my hand was, so my thumb smacked into it causing the menu to almost fall. I returned to the table and my friend and I started looking at the menu. After another 10-15 minutes the waiters still haven’t acknowledged our presence, no hi I will be right with you, nothing. I tried getting the attention on the female waitress, she made eye contact with me but then looked away and ignored us. Since we couldn’t get anything, we left.

The two of us were looking forward to trying a new restaurant, but since we were blatantly ignored, we will not be giving this restaurant...

Walked in last night with my grandson, sat down inside because no tables left on patio, sat there for approx 7 min, noone acknowledged us, I saw a table outside was open, table had a bill and needed cleaning, but sat down and waited, at which point 2 ladies walked inside and sat down, I have now been outside for approx 4 min, so 11 min total at this point without being acknowledged, the 2 ladies that just walked in now have menus and waters, my boyfriend who was parking now arrives, he asks why there are dirty cups and no menus or anything, I explain , so he then goes in and after now approx 14 min and has to ask for service the lady comes up and does not apologize and does not offer to clear the table until we ask for it to be done, the 2 ladies inside now have ordered and have beverages and we are just getting our table cleaned only by request, I will never go back to this...

First time I went I did not like the vibe of the server who seemed openly annoyed by us being there, despite being empty and newly opened. We had one drink each and left. This was 2 years ago.

On a whim I decided to give it another try with my partner one afternoon. Fries were uncooked so I had them thrown back in, 2nd round was TASTY. Had the steak tips which were pretty good, not great.

Ceasar salad was disappointing, missing both bacon and croutons lol. Menu and kitchen still needs some work it seems but definitely a lot of potential. Needs to try harder to create good dishes for the price point. Have paid more for worse though.

Server was excellent. Significant improvement to atmosphere and energy, even if the food didn't quite hit the mark. Good place for a few drinks, attractive location...
