We came to Wineology April 22/22 for a Birthday dinner. I had booked reservations in advance. They told us thst they can accomadate us. I arrived 10 mins before 7 pm (my reso time) 2 other friends were there an hr prior. The owner Immediately came over to me at 7 15 & was like who is in charge of time. Its 7 15 and you guys are late. I said excuse me. We are not. I was here before 7 & most of the guests were already there at 7 as well. He was very rude and said well who cares you can only stay to 9. Ok so not a great start to my Birthday dinner. We sat down. Waiters never came for over 30 mins. We asked to order drinks never recieved mines at all and others waited an hr. We had one waiter and he brought only 4 menus for 20 people. He never brought us drinks or asked if we wanted apetizers. My brother had ordered bottles of champage over 300 each and only 1 came out and it was warm not to mention it took over an hr to come out. The waiter took it back to chill it for another 30 mins. I still did not recive my glass of wine until 9 pm. Never recieved my Pizza either so my hubby & I split his. Alot of guests food didnt come out to 9 pm or later but yet every few mins they were reminding us that its almost time to go bc they booked another table of 4 people after us. He claimed we didnt get there to 8 38 but we we were there at 7. The owner was very rude and it was like we were in kindergarten. They approched various members of my party telling them of the time which was uncomfortable. How are you trying to make us leave when we are spending excellent money to be here and we haven't recieved food or drinks and now its 9 pm. That is not our fault. At 9 38 the owner complained we weren't gone yet and we shouldve had our pizza to go. First off some guests never even recieved their food yet. I let him know we would just like the bills bc the service and attitudes are rude and If I would've known this I'd gone elsewhere. We took our business else where that evening and had a great time. Wineology was a Horrible experience. Pizza very thin like a crisper cracker, never got my food ( the main guest) they harrass you during your time slot they dont tell you about and dont even have the room or tables tamazingo accomadate your guests. Horrible experiece. Go elsewhere was Very disappointed. Next time go to Piccolos or elsewhere....
Read moreI have recently returned to the Windsor area and wanted to try out some new places to eat. I know that I will be avoiding this restaurant in future. I went with two friends. They seated the three of us next to a couple - and when I say next to, I mean that we shared a booth with them. It was uncomfortable to say the least; we felt like we were intruding on a date.
The service was slow. It took a minute or two to get our drinks, not an unreasonably long time, but longer than expected given that there weren't many people in the restaurant yet.
Our appetizers were tasty, however, I'm sure they would have tasted better if they were at least warm when we got them. We had ordered everything at once, the apps and our mains, as we had allotted 2 hours for dinner as we had an event to attend after dinner. We figured that would be enough time. We were wrong.
After being there for an hour and a half, we had to request to have our mains "to go" as we wouldn't have had time to eat them before needing to be on our way. We were told it would be another 10 minutes, and 15 minutes later we were still waiting. It didn't escape my notice that tables that arrived an hour after we did were getting their meals and we were forced to take ours to go.
We did tell our server that our apps were cold, that we had an event to attend, and finally that we needed to leave, and they offered to take half off our apps and mains. It still cost over $60 each for 1 drink, 2 cold apps, and mains that we didn't even have a chance to eat. It was the first time (and I hope the last time) that I've not left a tip for my server.
It's quite disappointing that I had such a poor experience here. If you decide to go, make sure to give yourself double the time you expect for dinner. I can say that the drink was delicious; as for the food, I don't know how to rate it other than to say I think it would have been good if it was served warm, or...
Read moreThe pizza was good but i WILL NOT be returning. Called a week in advance to make a reservation at 7pm for 16 ppl. After I explained to the manager that I had never been and was so excited and its a dinner for my birthday blah blah... he went on to explain that he will not book my party at 7... Only 6 or 8 because if he books us at 7 we will be there all night and then he is unable to flip the table. And if I book at 6 he will kick us out after 2hrs ... WHO SAYS THIS to a customer. This is the manager ... Not just some ditsy host that put their foot in thier mouth ...the manager.
So fine... I booked at 8. Arrived promptly at 8 as did my party of 16.... And now 16 of us proceeded to wait untill 834 to be seated ..We sat there and watched the ppl at our table take selfies ... Then once they left, it took them 5-7 minutes to begin cleaning the table ... No worries, we weren't waiting or anything.
So finaly my party of 16 is seated ... And 2 ppl don't have a chair.... Or room at the table. None of the employees or the manager even acknowledged this. We had to point it out. The manager then said he would get a small table to add right away. 10 min later the manager comes back to explain why we can't add a table .... Blah blah blah... One of my guests eventually came up with a solution ... Did I mention I made these reservations a week ago. And god forbid for the manager even apologize. He acted like we should be thankful he let us in the door. Once we no longer have to interact with the manager the experience is much better. Our server was busting her ass to serve all 16 of us on her own. And the pizza and wine was great. The atmosphere was nice, the music was a bit loud for a restaurant but it was Saturday night. Apparently they have a DJ on Saturday ... I would have preferred a second...
