Tru's Grill House - Chatham Restaurant — Restaurant in Ontario

My husband and granddaughter took me to Tru's for my birthday dinner The food was delicious with nice portions, and the waitress were friendly and courteous! Nice atmosphere and clean. Even with these raves, I will not be returning. With a bill of $250+ for the three of us; when the waitress brought the bill I asked about a celebration slice of cake. I was informed this is something they don't do. I pointed out that even the cheap restaurants will celebrate your birthday with a littke sweet treat. I mentioned this type recognition is important to me (esp. with the amount of money we spent) and we will not be returning. I think a small recognition in this form says to a customer "thank you for choosing us as your birthday dinner location; you could have gone anywhere else but you choose to dine with us. Here is a slice of cake to celebrate your birthday." Small recognitions like this days a lot about an establishment and how they value customers and milestones in their lives. We were headed to Greenview aviaries when we came upon a storm. We thought we would find somewhere for lunch and Tru's came up on our search.

First, it is a beautiful establishment. It reminded us of the keg vibes. Plenty of booths and tables, it was clean and not overly busy.

Our waitress was a lovely woman who our 1 year old daughter was OBSESSED with. Watched her the entire time she was visible. Such a pleasant experience.

Our meals were delicious. We had a soup to share, broccoli cheddar soup was full of broccoli chunks. It was perfect. Then we had two separate orders of pasta - a chicken Alfredo and another with blush sauce, Spinach chicken and mushrooms. The name is not coming to me at the moment but it was top notch. My partner got the cod and chips. He had no complaints and enjoyed it thoroughly. The price point was fair for quality and service.

Booked online for a table of 6. Some of us arrived early. We were offered to sit at the lounge and wait for the other parties to arrive. Immediately noticed the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. All the ladies working there were phenomenal. The restaurant feel was so inviting and relaxing. The service was great! We got our drinks right away. The appetizers we ordered came out in a timely fashion. Enjoyed every bite. Cheered to our successes. Afterward, it was as if they knew to let our tummy's settle a bit before they served our main meals. (Which is great professionalism right there.. Instead of bring them out all at once or pushing our main meals on us when we haven't finished our appy's). All in all... the food was huge portions. Steak was cooked to everyone's satisfaction.
