We came in for Mother's day. They seemed to only have two waitresses and the restaurant became full soon after our arrival. We overheard one waitress say they had considered calling someone else in, but decoded against it, but they had forgotten about the addition of their regulars and how busy it would be due to the holiday. It took a long time between ordering and receiving our food. My food was good (french toast and bacon) and so was my neice's food (sausage hashbrown, toast and eggs). Unfortunately, my sister's french toast was soggy as if undercooked, and many of my mom's grapes were mushy although the rest of the fruit was fresh. They forgot to bring out the fried potatoes for two dishes until we reminded them near the end of our meal. Drinks weren't topped up until we reminded them either. I think if they had more staff, this would have been a better experience. An upside is that they offer the meals for very reasonable prices. This restaurant is cash only, with a small sign outside the door warning of this. It may be a good idea for the staff to remind their patrons when taking the order and a preemptive reminder when they make the bill, that they are cash only and that they have an ATM at the back. This way, the customers aren't surprised or confused when they are asked to...
Read moreMy family and I had a lovely experience at this cozy, traditional breakfast spot today in Cornwall. The ambiance was super cute, warm, and homey, making it the perfect place to start the day. While the menu focuses primarily on classic options like bacon, ham, and eggs, I appreciated some what vegetarian option - pancake, though I wasn’t sure if the batter contained eggs. The house fries was amazing.
The taste was absolutely delightful—everything was fresh and tasted super good, and the service was friendly and attentive. I’m giving 5 however I still wish there were more vegetarian options and perhaps waffles added to the menu. These small additions could make this charming little place even more amazing!
One thing to note is that the place only accepts cash.
Overall, it’s a very small yet interesting breakfast spot, and I’d happily return for the great food and lovely vibe. Definitely...
Read moreA little scratch diner located right on Pitt st. I stopped in for a quick bite & was pleasantly surprised.
Ordered the bacon cheeseburger special with a side salad Greek which was the size of a full sized one! Ample amounts of fixings and lots of black olives and feta!
My cheeseburger was fantastic, perfectly cooked on a grilltop with crispy edges and tasty patties. Bacon was thick and crispy and the bun was fresh!
Dessert was a warmed up caramel sauce cake that literally tasted like a bowl of pancakes and syrup. It was quite enjoyable.
My server was very friendly and sitting up on the bar made you feel like you were at someone's home.
A great little diner, $10.95 after tax with a drink is an amazing price.
Only drawbacks for some is the dated decor...
