My recent visit to Zaatarz Bakery for Suhoor turned into a shockingly poor experience that left me utterly dismayed. Arriving at 3:30 AM, the place was teeming with customers, seemingly a good sign. However, our anticipation for a calm meal before fasting quickly dissolved into confusion and disappointment. There was no indication, neither on Google Maps nor their website, about special Ramadan closing hours, which apparently was set at 4 AM.
Our order was placed in the midst of a crowded scene, and we managed to secure a table amidst the chaos. The real jaw-dropper came at 4:06 AM when, right after being notified our food was ready, the ambiance dramatically shifted. The server, with an escalation in volume that bordered on aggressive, barked out, "STORE IS CLOSED," in an apparent rush to clear out the premises. Witnessing this, especially as many patrons were either just beginning to eat or midway through their meals, was not only shocking but downright disrespectful.
This entire ordeal was a glaring example of how not to treat customers, exacerbated by the complete failure to communicate essential information such as adjusted Ramadan hours. The manner in which we were all but shoved out the door was not only unprofessional but also deeply insulting, particularly during a time meant for reflection and community. My disappointment is profound, and the thought of returning to Zaatarz Bakery is out of the question. It’s disheartening to see such disregard for customer experience and respect, especially during a period as significant as Ramadan. The community indeed deserves far better, especially when gathering in a spirit of...
Read morewoman who works here behind the counter is an illetrate rude woman who repells customers. very annoying lady who doesn't know how and what to talk. I used to go to this place a lot and have been their customer for quite a long time now.. however, an incident happened recently because of which I've decided to never go back. I called in to place an order and since dine-in is now open, me and my friends decided to get there, this woman answers the call, I've called 40 minutes before closing time but apparently these people are special... she said they couldn't accommodate us and since it's closing time she can't take order and forced me to place an order of higher $ otherwise she won't accept the order.. we thought restaurant would be full with crowd and no table available, on arrival to restaurant, it was empty and the woman was just lazy to do the work. there was just one man sitting on one of the tables and on asking why can't we dine-in as there's a man here, she responded, 'that's my father'. my friends to add something else to order along with soda pop, which are prepared item kept in refrigerator and has nothing to do with.. but she refused to add it stating 'for now it's not available'. 25 minutes before closing the restaurant, food unavailable for selling. closing time is 3pm, she closed 10 mins before and drove off... I wonder who is the owner and are they aware of nasty behavior of...
Read moreVery bad service! The staff were not even wearing gloves while working. I ordered a fattieh plate, the tasted and smelled spoiled it was clearly old. I was very polite when I mentioned the issue, but the cashier was extremely rude and disrespectful. She got upset when I said the food was spoiled and told me they wouldn’t refund me or offer anything else because in her opinion, there was nothing wrong. She even said that I probably just wanted something for free! What’s worse, she tasted the food with her bare hand right in front of me, without even using a spoon. This shows a shocking level of carelessness and lack of hygiene. Honestly, I don’t want anything from a place that serves spoiled food and handles it this way. It’s not about the $8 — it’s about the quality, cleanliness, and the way you treat customers. This was my first and definitely my last visit until you learn to respect people and serve...
