barBURRITO — Restaurant in Oshawa

I'm writing this review before I've even taken one bite of my food because the person who I assume is the manager has totally put me off ever returning to this place again. She was a youngish Asian woman who was wearing all black (not the uniform that the other employees were wearing) and she made me and the other customer there feel like we should be bowing down to her in order to get service. The other customer there at the same time as me told the employee helping her that she had never been there before and she had food allergies so she needed direction with the menu. The employee who helped her was wonderful but once the customer moved over to the cash to pay, the manager gave her a 5 minute lecture about not eating at a place that has ingredients she may be allergic to and that this was the one and only time that she would be allowed to make substitutions to her meal. She said about four times that she's making this exception for her this one time and then demanded that the customer thank her for doing it! When it was my turn to pay I did so and then asked for a fork as the container was empty, and the manager angrily told me I'd have to wait as it was "extremely busy". I looked around me and was P obviously the only person standing there. After she huffed and puffed to get me my fork, she then started talking to another employee about the customer who was there before me and how she was so rude for asking for substitutions and how she had to force her to say thank you. All of this while I was still standing there. This woman obviously hates people and really needs to consider working somewhere alway...

I've been to this location numerous times and always find myself hovering over to BarBurrito all the time when I'm at the Oshawa Centre. The food is really good, big portions and the staff is beyond exceptional. For a food place in a food court, they still deliver the best customer service. I have a few dietary restrictions which include having to choose gluten free. Even though it was a busy Saturday, the owner took the time to explain to me everything and all the options I had. She even recommended a few combinations and meals I could choose from there. Needless to say, it's always my go to place without having to feel like I'm missing out on awesome food. I know most food places make such a big deal and hassle about it, but I truly appreciate that she had taken the time to do that for me and made me feel accommodated. My boyfriend orders churros there all the time and they do take a few minutes to prepare because they're made to order. Instead of having to stand there and wait, the owner suggested we grab a seat and start eating while our food was still warm. After a few bites, I was going to go back to pick up the churros and unexpectedly the owner took the time to find us and bring it over to us instead. Which was super sweet of her! She's also super friendly all the times we've been there. So no wonder the staff there are so friendly and great, definitely have to hand it to the owner. I recommend that you check out the owner, her team and the food here!...

Looking for a fast serve Mexican restaurant? We came here for a late afternoon meal at Oshawa Centre. There was a lineup to order so that's a good 1st impression. Makes you think the food is bomb!

We ordered a regular steak burrito (+$1 for steak) and the menu feature Bang Bang Shrimp tacos. The burrito has a choice of whole wheat or regular tortilla. The food prep loaded it with toppings of your choice. Guacamole is extra cost. There were 3 scoops of steak in our burrito. We chose burrito sauce and chipotle bbq to keep the heat low. The bang bang shrimp was prepared in the back and was served with homemade tortilla chips and salsa. The tacos shells were placed on flat grill to make them warm and crispy. The topping were generous and fresh.

Overall we enjoyed the meal and it was a lot more than we bargained. If you are looking to share a burrito with your significant other, a regular size is more than enough. The tacos were also delicious and prepare to get your hands dirty. The toppings drip...
