My co-worker and I got lunch from this location approximately 2-3 weeks ago. We had two "the works" fries, and two premium hotdogs .This came up to around $50 tax in. The fries were half cooked, unsalted and greasy - also they were smothered in green onions. We could barely eat two forkfuls without both feeling queasy.
I contacted this location (Oshawa Town Centre) spoke to a gentleman, for his privacy I will leave his name out. I provided him with my receipt information etc.
He informed me that while I could not have a refund, however, I could have a credit. I gave him my name, and he said he would inform the staff and write my name down so there would be no problems when I came to claim my credit. Which could be claimed whatever time I should like to return in the future.
I went there today, asked to have 4 hotdogs and to have my credit applied and I would pay the difference. I was told to pay for the full amount which was $36.44 and they would credit me for my past order shortly after calling the gentleman who told me I would receive the credit.
The person who was "looking into the credit" was a manager. After hiding in the back, he came and told me that he could not validate my credit and could not issue me a refund, because the staff member "could not be reached". At that point I asked for a refund of the full order that they not only had me PAY for but already had MADE.
Instead of just having me pay the difference, they much rather refund an order they made and waste product. Which shows the cost of the order is FAR greater than the cost of the product in itself because a $40 order went to waste because they refused to credit me $25-30 dollars that I was owed.
I think as a franchise more time needs to go into training whoever will be representing their brand. The fact that one worker struggled to squeeze a mustard bottle and instead of just removing whatever dry mustard was at the tip of bottle and decided to just toss some mustard packs into a paperbag AND on top of that manage food without wearing gloves leaves me inn absolute disbelief.
If I could give them 0 stars I would because this place isn't worth...

Ambiance: The place is clean and has a modern look. There’s enough seating for a good number of people at the food court.
Service: The staff are friendly and quick. Orders are taken and served fast, even when it’s busy. A special shoutout to Umar, who is very helpful and makes great recommendations.
Food: The fries are delicious—crispy on the outside and soft inside. The poutine, especially the Classic Poutine, is fantastic with fresh cheese curds and tasty gravy. They also offer hot dogs and veggie fries.
Value: The prices are fair for the amount and quality of food. The combo deals are a good bargain.
Overall Experience: New York Fries in Oshawa is a reliable spot for a quick and tasty snack. If you’re in the Oshawa Centre, it’s worth stopping by.

Read moreRude staff and couldn’t follow instructions. I ordered a normal poutine and asked to add bacon… they messed up my poutine not once but twice. First time with onions (I’m mildly allergic and never asked for them) the second time, I got home and went to eat and there was absolutely no gravy on the fries. Just fries and cheese curds, this is probably because they were upset that they had to make a new one but who knows. How hard can it be to make things correctly when you only sell two items, poutine and hotdogs? I highly recommend that people don’t bother with this establishment, there’s many local places that don’t even specialize in poutine that are much higher quality and quantity for your hard earned money. I would rate 0 stars...
