Kung Pao Wok — Restaurant in Oshawa

I struggle with the menu board at these places, but that's just me. They have a few combo deals but until you get a good look at all the options you don't really know what you want until you are thrown in to a line to graze. In any event, the sesame chicken was very good. I loved that every piece was edible unlike some places where there is unknown chicken parts therein that you can't chew .. but the chicken here was exceptional and the sauce made it even better when it melted into the rice dish .. Mmmmmm. Happy belly.

Now, the fact that we stood in the line to pay first only to realize that you were to graze by the windows and put your order in first was annoying. (Why didn't someone tell us we were doing it wrong? It wasn't overly crowded so we weren't sure how it all worked. I find that odd.) So after putting our order in we then waited to pay ... while our lunch was getting cold. Again, I find that odd. And, maybe it's just me, but I find tipping odd for this style of food service. I haven't eaten it yet, what if it's intolerable ... so how much do I tip? I have to carry this to a table in the food court myself ... do I deduct my delivery charge from the total? Weird. (Yes, for you angry readers, I did tip ...)

I noticed that staff were very efficient in keeping food trays stocked quickly. As soon as a container was near empty, BAM, another one at the window being passed through to the front staff. Impressive.

Fortune cookies are not free. That felt wrong.

Also, they offer plates for sharing. Nice touch when you have a small eater joining you. Overall content with my first time there. Will definitely go back again and trying another chicken dish .. now that I know...

People PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful eating here Yesterday we came to get some food And we requested White Rice So One of the employees was washing the landing on where the cooks in the back put the food on To give it to the front counter WELL He was walking out with really really soapy cloth. And as the other employee was opening the rice cooker to get the rice That was underneath that landing And there was water with soap dripping into the white rice I asked that employee if they knew what was happening He looked at me and kept on cleaning with a smile I know he understood me For I was speaking really clearly in my English vocabulary Then I asked him again if he knows what he’s doing while you’re putting soap with water in the rice below you And he looked at me and said yes, I kept on cleaning By this experience yesterday witnessing it with my own eyes It makes me wonder what is happening behind those closed doors in the back while they’re cooking This is very disgusting And I’m gonna report this to health and safety I even asked the lady for the managers name and phone number She gave me a But there’s no phone number to call her She’ll be back in an hour This is why I’m reporting it on the review on the website so everybody can see what’s happening here This is very disgusting and so...

Yesterday I was trying to order a small meat entree and I can see that it is $12, I picked the fish and they said they don’t have enough to make a small one. I just suggested they can add a bit of other meat just to make the pricing fair. They we’re like “no, we can not do that”, and saying that pricing for a small entree in some meats are different and said it is $15 for some of the meat entree. I was looking at the prices and there was nothing saying like that. I just smirked and thank the lady, I just went home instead of being robbed by Kung Pao Wok. If some of the dish have a different price for entree you should put that in the board so we know. If this is not true then those workers ripping us off? That fried fish was the only good thing in their store 😂 well I guess never again in this kung pao wok oshawa center. They use to be good back in 2021 😩 I remember that they will fill it up to the lid per serving. Now they are ripping you off. I’d rather have shanghai 360 every time now. But they close so early, because they are “SOLD OUT” every day! Unlike this Rip off...
