Last night, we had an eventful dinner at Kelseys in the Oshawa Center, where we were graciously served by the ever-reliable bartender, Ian. We arrived around 5:30-5:45 pm and, as always, were immediately greeted by Ian, setting a welcoming tone for the evening. Our experience began smoothly, with drinks and appetizers ordered without a hitch.
However, the evening took an unexpected turn when a woman, whom we'll call Jada, entered with her young son. They approached Ian at the bar, with Jada showing little attention to her son, who began running into the bar area and even the kitchen—a potentially dangerous situation. Thankfully, an off-duty server quickly intervened, guiding the child back to his mother. Despite the language barrier, Ian used Google Translate to communicate with Jada, learning that she had no money and her son was hungry. In a heartwarming gesture, Ian provided them with fries and vegetables and even engaged the boy with toys, showing incredible patience and kindness.
As Jada and her son settled at a table, another disruption arose involving a patron named Adam. After ordering a beer, Adam became involved in an altercation at the bar. Ian, maintaining his composure, asked Adam to leave, explaining that no bill was necessary since the drink was barely touched. Adam, however, grew increasingly aggressive, involving other patrons, including Jada and her son.
Despite Ian's efforts, Adam refused to leave, prompting a call to mall security. Unfortunately, the security team proved ineffective, allowing Adam to continue causing a scene. Other guests eventually intervened including myself, who simply asked the security to do their job as instructed and to remove Adam so we can continue on with our meals and night, and Adam was finally escorted out, but not before Jada inexplicably followed him, leaving her son behind and causing further distress.
Throughout this absolute chaos, Ian remained a pillar of calm and professionalism. He handled the situation with grace, prioritizing the safety and enjoyment of his guests. His dedication to ensuring a pleasant dining experience, even amidst such turmoil, was truly commendable. Ian's actions exemplified what it means to be a stand-up individual and employee, and we are grateful for his...
Read moreHello All. We came into your restaurant last night for the Oshawa General fundraiser. Our server Jenn was Absolutely amazing, I arrived a little later than the 3 other folks at my booth, they had already been served there drinks, I sat down and we had our greetings and then I was ready for a drink myself, I turned around to look for our server and there she was, Jenn had a beautiful warm smile and introduced herself as our server and for the rest of the evening it seemed every time we needed something there she was, I was very impressed that when we placed our orders Jenn never wrote anything down, and yet our 4 orders which weren’t that complicated , but they all did had a few little xtra requests, all came out perfectly and not long after we were served, Jenn came back around to make sure everything was just as we ordered, which they were, Jenns personality and her genuine passion for her job and pleasing her customers was spot on. We all have issues in our life and I’m sure Jenn is no different than any of us, But whatever she has going on, she definitely checked it at the door on the way in. Her main focus and goal was to ensure our dining experience was nothing but the best, and it was. I do eat out quite a bit and I have never had the pleasure and seen a more friendly caring happy person enjoying their job while dealing with a tough crowd at times, being the public I definitely will be back because of Jenn to be able to enjoy her company, with another fine meal. On a scale of 1-10 Jenn gets a 15 :) She’s Amazing and I hope you treat her real well, because I know a lot of people probably don’t fill out one of these surveys, but I bet a lot of people keep coming back to your restaurant because of the awesome service they received from Jenn She’s the real deal and would be a great role model for any new servers you hire along the way. Thank you...

If taste buds could talk, mine would be writing this review in ALL CAPS. We walked into Kelseys Original Roadhouse expecting a chill meal, but left wondering if we had just attended a culinary rock concert.
We kicked things off with the breaded lemon pepper chicken wings, which were so zesty and crispy, they should come with a warning label: “May cause spontaneous high-fives.” The lemon Sriracha kettle chips were like chips that went to flavor boot camp and came back spicy, tangy, and ready for action.
And the grand finale? The Mushroom Melter. A double patty burger stacked with crispy bacon, gooey cheese, and mushrooms that could make a vegetarian question their life choices. Every bite was a mic drop moment.
Special shoutout to Caitlin—our server, spirit guide, and honorary member of the Clean Plate Club. She was fast, friendly, and funnier than half my family. 10/10 would ask for her again.
Then there’s Chef Marvin, who I’m convinced is a culinary wizard disguised as a chef. Someone check if his apron says “Powered by Flavor Magic.”
Go hungry. Leave happy. Possibly roll out. Thanks, Kelseys. We’ll be back—with...
