I don’t enjoy leaving reviews for less-than-pleasant experiences, but I am hopeful that perhaps an owner or management will see this review, because that’s who it’s really for. My husband and I dined in at this location last night. I want to begin by saying that I am not disparaging our server(s) or host, I can recognize that they’re doing the best that they can in their circumstances, and are very overworked. I really believe that this restaurant is suffering from a lack of leadership.
We were seated in the most uncomfortable two-seater that tipped and rocked our whole meal. It was a ten minute wait to see our server, as she was incredibly busy with multiple large groups. Our server twice commented that the table was very small, and wouldn’t fit our salads and entrees, and I was at a loss. The table was not properly cleaned between diners (my spot was sticky) and we were not given plates or cutlery until we had to ask a second time, after our food came. I was a little disappointed that other couples who arrived after us had been given the larger booths, where as we were jammed in awkwardly between two large, loud families (again, this is a problem for the restaurant to fix, not our host.)
The restaurant was incredibly filthy. I mean beyond filthy, with food and garbage all over the floor. My husband’s first two choices of beer were both out of stock, our poor server had to come back and forth to our table to try and let us know what was actually available. Our food was what we expected, and I appreciated our server bringing me a new fresh bowl of soup when my first bowl had no meatballs in it. But, by this point, I was so uncomfortable in the restaurant that my husband and I agreed to pack up my entree so we could leave and get a dessert elsewhere.
If I ever decide to dine in again, I will make the trip to the North Oshawa location and wait for a table. After my experience, I think I’ll be opting for East Side takeout going forward. I hope that a manager or owner might see this review and take the time to see what’s going on during a weekend/holiday dinner service, for the sake of your staff and...
Read moreHmmm... Ok, so our experience was not great at all!! I hadn't really wanted to go to this location to begin with, because of the poor service from last time; but my daughter insisted because it was the closest venue to our location. Little did she know the waitress would attempt to scam her!! (#4)
COMPLAINTS #1: My meal was wrong. I had to send it back and because of this I received a "dirty look".(That's what bothered me)
So, while waiting for the meal replacement... #2: I had to physically get up to ask the waitress for more bread, because I got tired of waiting for her to approach the table. (Did I mention I have a broken foot?)
#3: When it came time to pay, we were right ready to walk out without paying. We had waited 15 mins and were still being ignored. We had to begin walking towards the exist to get her attention... (A table of four young men actually got up and walked out of the restaurant because they were tired of waiting for service!!!)
#4: WORST of all, the waitress tried to scam my 12 year old daughter!!!
"I have been letting my daughter pay for our purchases using my debit card since she was 8 years old, because she has proved she is capable; and she even has a card of her own. There is no tap and she must manually enter the numbers in order to make purchases. I currently have a broken foot, so I proceeded to the car to sit while my daughter stayed back to pay.
MY DAUGHTER tells me when she gets back to the car that the waitress tried to OVERCHARGE us!!! Our bill was 41$. So when my daughter saw the owing amount was "60$", she confronted the waitress and asked her to change the price. Apparently the lady fumbled her words guiltily as though "it was an accident" and then obliged my daughter's request to readjust the bill to the correct price. I just wonder if she would have tried that had I been there?
Needless to say, the waitress did not receive a tip and we will not be going back to that location...
Read moreMy son loves east sides and asked to go for his birthday! It started out great, the host was quick made sure our table was clean then sat us.. once the rest of our party came we ordered drinks which was fine, but after that it was unfortunately not..
the waiter took 5 of the 6 guests orders and had to be called back so the 6th member of our party could order.. one of the orders was for a side salad with no bacon every order came with bacon, and when asked for a different salad the dressing requested was ignored.
We then waited 45 minutes for our order to come to the table only for 2 of the 6 to come very dry and missing the chicken and cold and the robot to be sent back with one of our orders still on the tray. Having to wait until someone noticed and brought it to our table.
When we asked for extra sauce for the chicken Alfredo, the waitress kept stating she “wasn't our waitress” and walked away..
We then asked for drink refills only for the waitress to not be paying attention to placement and spilling the drink all over the table and floor thankfully just missing my son.
When it came time for the bills we requested that the bills go 3 ways only for them to bring it back completely wrong and when we asked for it to be fixed it was all put on 1 bill. In order to not have to go through the process of having the bills separated once again we paid as one bill.. our bill was almost 200$ and this was sadly our experience..
Unfortunately since the ownership change the dynamic of this restaurant has completely gone down hill which is sad as this was one of our...
