Poulet Rouge — Restaurant in Oshawa

It’s not often I try a new place at the OC’s food court and come away thoroughly impressed. This visit was a delightful exception.

I opted for their larger bowl and the poutine to share with my son, and both were exceptional. The curds were spot-on, and the gravy was out of this world. Having had mixed experiences at similar places before, my expectations weren’t high, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The staff added significantly to the experience – they were friendly and eager to share their offerings, a warmth often missing elsewhere.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a reason to eat here after my favorite curry spot closed. Today’s venture has changed that. My son adored the large bowl with a quinoa and rice mix. The poutine I ordered, where I added corn and crunchy oignions was spectacular. Our two choices of garlic and volcano sauces respectively , were standout choices. Both sauces were fantastic and I’d assume the rest are JUST as good no doubt. On a note, do not hesitate on the volcano. It’s not over-powering and delightfully tangy and a little sweet. Probably my preferred mix of kick with warmth.

Absolutely love this place! Told the employees I’d put their names on the review but I honestly forgot. If I could include all their names, I truly would. Some key names would be Fahad and Methana (sorry if I spelt it wrong). I love to give credit when its due, and the employees at Poulet Rouge truly deserve it. It is very rare for a fast food place, especially at the Oshawa Centre, to have both quality food and quality service. And every visit, the Poulet Rouge Oshawa team delivers every both quality food and service almost every single time. Through their interactions with me as they prepare the food, to the final product, its all to a key.

Excellent food! Portions are huge, a wide array of fresh ingredients and tasty sauces. You can smell the chicken and see the smoke from the grill all the way from the other side of the food court!! It’s hard to resist. The best part was the service. They have a lot of staff on in such a condensed space and you can tell they’re all happy to be there. Everyone on the line was putting in effort to fulfil the orders during a busy rush. Every person I saw either asked me how my day was or smiled, which is sadly so uncommon nowadays at other establishments. They make you feel like family! I wish I could’ve remembered everyone’s name but I’ll always remember Mohamed. He made my day with his amazing customer service and cooked some of the tastiest chicken I’ve ever had!
