I had heard nothing but good things about these locations and their poutine as much as the beavertails

However, my experience today was anything but disappointing. We ordered two poutines to go and waited about 15 minutes to get them. Excited to eat them warm at home, I left in a hurry to get home. Upon opening the poutines (please see the attached picture) and taking the first bite; the only emotions we felt were anger and disappointment.

Anger because under an overload of gravy (which made everything very salty), there was a handful of shredded MOZZARELLA cheese?? Why would they serve shredded mozzarella when even the picture on their menu shows a proper poutine with cheese curds?. The mozzarella was processed pre-shredded mozzarella which is not the right cheese to be used for poutine, especially with a river of gravy. Consequently, both poutines were thrown out, after two bites each.

Even if they had run out of cheese curds, the least they could have done was notified the person expecting a half decent poutine. In that case, I'd have gone to any random chip truck or even the MCD across to get a much better poutine, than what was served to me.

Mozzarella.... that too pre-shredded/processed on a poutine in Ottawa..why??? I'm going to have trust issues for a very...

People at the beavertail outlet would not let me order without a mask on when I am standing outside the trailer, 10 feet away, no problem, I go and put on a mask and order. As I am watching them make my tails, nobody inside is wearing any gloves. BUT the people are handling dirty money and handling my food as well as everybody else's food that was ordered. When I get my food, I ask why you are not wearing any gloves, their reply is..... we ran out yesterday. Sooooo I tell them that all the people that you served is at risk of corona. They just shrug their shoulders and continue taking money and making food. Not sure whoever reads this, but.... I will be telling everybody about this and everybody who has eaten at this location on November 28th and 29th. GO AND GET TESTED...

It’s a beaver tail, pretty hard to mess up honestly. My issue the employee that took my order asked if I wanted to tip, I don’t know if that’s just how this location or beavertails does it because of covid but I thought nothing of it. It’s when I overhead him say to the other employee working “that guy gave me hard naw”.

For the record, it was meant to be rude or which ever you want to label it I just didn’t want to tip and how I chose to word it and was taken out context. Second, you’d think you wouldn’t say that so a customer can hear you.. but I mean I guess I’m in the wrong about that to ?🤔

Either way, I can’t see myself coming back to this location. I just wanted something sweet to snack on after work but that won’t...

Originally a local snack and dessert shop exclusive to Ottawa, BeaverTails has now expanded to cities like Toronto. But in Ottawa, you’ll find these shops all over town. The signature item? A deep-fried dough pastry topped with a variety of sweet sauces and toppings. I got one with a chocolate base—freshly fried, slightly crispy on the outside but soft inside. The toppings were rich: crushed Oreos, marshmallows, and a layer of maple syrup underneath. It’s sugar overload in the best way possible—absolutely delicious. Each one costs around $9. No wonder the staff are mostly young—otherwise, they probably couldn’t afford the hourly wage!

When you go to the Tanger Outlet don’t forget to get yourself Beaver Tails. They are really delicious. Very thin just a little sweet. I always get the original and ask for some lemon. Sprinkle some fresh lemon juice on it and it tastes amazing. Another you want to try is the apple pie one. So good. I’ve attached the menu there so you can see what they are offering before you go there. If you are health conscious check the calories count before you order. Beaver Tails never disappoint. 5 stars.
