A Fantastic Shopping Day at Tanger Outlets! I spent the afternoon at Tanger Outlets today and was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. For anyone looking for great brands and even better deals, this is the place to go. I found a fantastic mix of products, from clearance items at a steal to the latest new arrivals. It was the best of both worlds â I could hunt for bargains and still see the current season's trends. The outlet boasts an impressive lineup of top-tier brands, and I was particularly struck by the quality and design of the products available. Having visited Tanger Outlets in the US, I noticed a distinct difference here in Ottawa. The clothing and accessories felt more aligned with the latest fashion, and the quality of the items was exceptional. It was a refreshing change to see such current and well-made products in an outlet setting. When it was time for a break from shopping, the food options were a pleasant surprise. There's a great selection to choose from, whether you're in the mood for a quick and tasty meal from Chick-fil-A or something more unique like the delicious shawarma and teriyaki dishes. For those needing a caffeine boost, there are also nice cafes perfect for grabbing a coffee and recharging before heading back to the stores. Overall, my visit to Tanger Outlets in Ottawa was a resounding success. The combination of excellent brand variety, high-quality products, and great food choices makes it a top-notch shopping destination. I'll...
Read moreThe mall is, at best, adequate. That said, the lack lustre variety and quality of retail brands selling all the same Chinese made land fill is so uninspiring. As Iâm sure most people know by now, the nature of outlets has significantly changed over the last two decades. In the beginning, outlets actually did carry the previous yearâs grade âAâ inventory that didnât sell...and you could get some really good deals!
Now, there is maybe one rack of the real stuff and the rest of the store is jammed with cheap, inferior quality product that is manufactured specifically for the outlet channelâŚmarked up so that it can be marked down without killing the retailerâs margins while at the same time providing the consumer with what they believe to be a âdealâ. Itâs all a big scam and indicative of the state of brick and mortar retail in the 21st century. Itâs a sad state of affairs.
My biggest beef with Tanger Outlets in Kanata is that on our last visit we were trying to access the disabled assets/services that they say are available, like complimentary wheelchairs. Tanger Kanata doesnât have a âreceptionâ like many of the others do, so we tried calling the phone number that they provide should you need assistanceâŚwell, the number doesnât work and if you ask any of the employees that work for the mall, they just look at you like youâre a crazy person. Again, as I saidâŚa very sad...
Read moreUpdate: January 11 2025 my family returned for a day of shopping. I wish I kept a list of the stores we went to but I had my hands too full to keep having to pull out my phone. Either way, again, the majority of store we went to, the accessible access buttons were not working. The one at the Bluenotes store was blocked by a mannequin and a rack. To access it required a bit of reaching and contorting to get around the mannequin. The rack, may have been temporarily placed there, I don't know but it should never be blocked off to begin with. I also did respond to the owners by email. On a positive note, we tried Chik Fil A for the first time and that was probably the best chicken sandwich and lemonade I've ever had.
Original post: The shopping is great but the accessibility buttons (to open doors) don't work for more than 3/4 of the stores we went to. This is maddening. I know some people abuse them, but keeping them maintained so they work for those who do need shouldn't be a me problem but a you (Tanger) problem. Disappointing because I drove from 2 hrs away just to shop here. I won't be back until I no longer need...
