Update (2023): I was recently denied service here for not wearing a mask, after deciding to make a visit for the first time since before covid started. Very disappointing as I had previously greatly enjoyed the pastries from here, but fortunately there are many other lovely bakeries and coffee shops, some newer, some established, along Wellington/Richmond, so I enjoyed a coffee and a pastry just down the street.
(2016) SUCH a terrific find! I loved this place at first sight and smell! My companions and I shared a chai latte, their hazelnut latte, a black Happy Goat coffee, a blueberry croissant (Danish?), a chocolate croissant, a maple croissant, and a cheese croissant -- they were all simply scrumptious! We all agreed that the pastries were some of the best (flakiest, tastiest, well-made ) we had ever tasted -- made fresh that AM! We actually brought twice as much as intended because our first serving was so delicious! This is a full-fledge bakery, with loaves of bread in addition to pastries. The eating area is small: there is a counter at the cash which has about 3 bar chairs, there is one table with 4 chairs, and there are two comfy chairs kitty-cornered to each other. The washroom is gorgeous and clean. Not sure if there is Wi-Fi (I didn't ask). This is not a place to chill for hours or to study (no room). Not sure if there are outlets, either. Parking is on the street (but I don't know if they have any customer parking of their own).
All-in-all, I highly recommend this place, and foresee myself indulging here...
Read moreWOW.... If you really like bread, if you like great croissant with a great cup of espresso, this is the place. I finally took the time to try out this place after a couple of failed attempts because of timing and I can tell you it was worth the trip..... After months of searching for a place in Ottawa where the baguettes are baguettes and not some facsimile of some long round bread, I can finally satisfy my need for great bread in Ottawa. You get the best chewy fresh bread right out of the oven... And WOW, how great it is... Had it for supper that night with ham and some Brie with some wine ... Ahhhhhhhh. I'll be sleeping good tonight. The ladies at the shop were incredible. Friendly, helpful and all smiles, reminded me of a Parisian Boulangerie. If I lived close to this place I would be there every morning for a great cup of coffee, good company and the wonderful croissant. One warning however, the baker is an incredibly lovely lady, the kind who seems to take pride in her bread,...

Blueberry danish: 15/10. Perfect balance between the soft, and jamminess of the blueberry and the crunch of the puff pastry. Highly recommended.
Cinnamon snail: 10/10. If you are puff pastry lover, 100% get this. The flakiness of the pastry was unbelievable. I just wished there was more cinnamon filling or else it would be fighting for the top spot with the blueberry Danish.
Jam bun: 9/10. Very similar to the cinnamon snail but less flaky and couldn't taste much of a filling.
Earl grey scone: 8/10. Very prominent earl grey flavour which is delicious. I just found the scone a little dense.
The chocolate hazelnut: 5/10 nothing special, there was barely any filling.
The Rosemary shortbread: 10/10!!! Amazing flavour and the butteriness was perfect, not too greasy.
I also got the mooshu ice-cream in osmanthus and peach (vegan) and it was not good. My friend and I both couldn't taste much of a flavour. It was sweet and...
