My friend and I visited on a cold, dark November night. The decor is so bright and colourful it felt like walking into springtime! The food did not disappoint. I had the medium chicken salad and my friend had a beef salad. The salad mix was the best I’ve had in Ottawa. It was very fresh with orange pepper, crispy greens, and finely shredded carrots and red cabbage - which made a difference. The carrots and cabbage at other places are usually large, unappealing chunks. The meat was generous - beef was seasoned well, but a little on the dry side. The chicken was moist and tender. Tabouleh was fresh and excellent. They had real pickled turnip (most places now cut corners and do pickled cabbage). The garlic sauce was a cut above. You could really taste the fresh garlic. The tahini sauce likewise was fresh and tasted better than other places I’ve been. Staff was supper friendly even though it was near closing time. They gave free samples of homemade lentil l soup with warm rich scent of cumin and spices - very nicely seasoned. Highly recommended. I am definitely going back and will...
