Chungchun Rice Dog Nepean — Restaurant in Ottawa

After being mildly intrigued, my wife and I decided to visit for lunch today. As seen in the picture I got the chicken nugget encrusted dog with bbq sauce, parmesan and mayo, while she got the french fry encrusted half beef half cheese with chipolte, ketchup and cheddar cheese.

We shared bites, as one does when they want to eat everything in the world despite your dr's frantic screams. So I can talk about both.

I would do separate reviews but both would just result in me using a thesaurus for the word delicious and frankly I don't want to spend 2 hours typing this review.

It was super cripsy and crunch on the outside. The batter itself was soft and chewy in a good way. You can tell a. These are made to order and b. Not overfried. While it was rich, it was not greasy like overcooked fried food. The core, sausage and cheese, was well seasoned and tasty.

We washed it down with their signature pineapple-ade which provided a sweetness and tang that paired well with these.

Next time I earn a cheat meal from my diet, and my Dr is distracted, i will come back and try...

I work until late in the night, and occassionally I’ll look for a quick bite to eat. Normally, I go to the Subway or Popeye’s, but I wanted to try something different for once. Chungchun caught my attention.

The choice was absolutely worth it. I’ve never tried a Rice Dog before, but it was stellar. Really wishing I got two instead of one, because it was extremely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back here again.

The dog i chose was the Original Chungchun dog, with Spicy Mayo on top. Nice and crispy, and the meat was juicy. The sauce added a nice kick to the dog as well.

Also got a Chocolate Milk Tea from the Gong Cha in the same building. As I am typing this, I am drinking that. Also fantastic.

It's my first time having this place. I am not the biggest connoisseur of Korean Hot dogs but this place seems to be one of the most popular. I had the chicken nugget and the original beef.

The chicken nuggets were a bit dry but overall pretty tasty. It was hard to eat because it was so big. I got a bunch of sauces on the side so I could figure out which I like best.

I also got the original. I love hot dogs, especially beef, but I wasn't the biggest fan of this dog. The batter was good. Fluffier than the chicken but the dog just didn't have that beef dog taste I'm used to. By no means was it bad, but just not my favourite..

I would definitely come back for the chicken.
