Elie's The Original Lorenzo's Pizza — Restaurant in Ottawa

I was a longtime customer, going in for lunch with work friends, or ordering delivery 3-4 times a week for the past 24 years. Unfortunately, as the reviews show since the buyout, when the business changed hands, the quality went way down. They used to have the best fries i've ever eaten. The new owners changed to frozen fries, stating that they were getting complaints about the fries being mushy on delivery. Elie had the business for 40+ years, and never had to change them :/ Pizza quality has sufferred tremendously as well. The food isn't terrible, it just isn't great like it used to be, not to mention, a bit overpriced now. My work colleagues and i had mentioned the quality a few times, and they just didn't seem to care for our input. fair enough. We went from going 3-4 times a week, to maybe once every few weeks, then to zero. It's not that we hated the food, but would much rather give our money to a business that deserves it. It's unfortunate that the new owners ruined what had become a legendary...

I just returned from this little gem. I had a very generous small poutine along with a small "Greek" pizza. Without hesitation, this was by far and wide the very best pizza I've ever had in Canada (Maritimes, QC and ON). The small dining area, tables and chairs look to be very new; it was spotless. The dining area is surrounded by glass and very bright and cheerful. There are also shades to prevent glare if desired. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. Though I walked, I noticed there was a parking lot. I am here for school from Massachusetts and have been at a hotel around the corner for two full weeks with one week left to go. I regret not having noticed this much sooner. I highly recommend this particular Lorenzo's on every important ground: Service, Food and Cleanliness....

I used to LOVE this restaurant when I lived in Overbrook. You can imagine how excited I was to have an opportunity to stop in and get some pizza to go.

Pepperoni and Bacon Pizza had to be hands down the most disgusting pizza I have ever spent $25 on. The bacon must have been added on raw because it was absolutely not cooked and the pizza was soaked in grease.

The end result was a pizza nobody I bought it for could eat. It ended up just being left in the car and when I got home at midnight threw the whole pizza into the oven to try and cook it better. Well, nothing helps this train wreck. I will not be back sorry to say, and I would imagine it's the reason I seemed to be their only...
