Happy Goat Coffee Co. (National Gallery of Canada) — Restaurant in Ottawa

We did not go in expecting an Angry Goat at the Happy Goat Cafe! 😤

The girl working tonight's shift (Thursday October 9) was extremely rude and full of attitude. We were there 15 minutes before close of the gallery, and it was an empty café.

We wanted to try a new drink on one of the printed out displays. Upon ordering, the barista started listing the drinks she did have, and proceeded to tell us the one we wanted to try was out of stock. However she whispered this, and we couldn't hear her, so when we asked to repeat what she said, she started smacking her pen against her hand and the counter while listing the drinks again, as this for some reason annoyed her?

She laughed at us and rudely said there were 4 drinks on the menu not just the 1 (the menu we were looking at had 2 drinks listed).

We walked away and got nothing, as we do not have that kind of patience; nor do we want to spend money when confronted by people with rude behaviour and mannerisms.

Perhaps she is in need of a refresher course on appropriate customer service, or needs to find a job in another field of work where they are not front facing...

This wonderful place in Ottawa is so good Excellent collection of coffees cookies and sandwiches etc The ambience is something to die for right under the museum it’s just the ideal place to chill with coffee and some great snacks Tried the iced coffee was super awesome The cookies were excellent to die for

The service however was not as expected the person at the counter seemed overworked So just order whatever you have to and chill don’t expect much from the service
