Almost $10 for a 3 scoop cone! That's 3 1/2 times more expensive than an XL slushie from circle K. I only got 1 napkin from them, and it was stuck to the cone. I sorta dropped my cone when I was trying to unstick the napkin from the cone so I could eat the cone without eating the napkin, too. The cone was intact though, and no one I could see saw it happen. But once I'd taken a bite from the cone, it started dripping from a hole in its bottom! I had to sit down on a curb and eat, letting the dripping go onto to the sidewalk instead of my shirt as I walked! Wow, so messy. I was planning on going shopping afterwards, but I instead went home to wash up, which thankfully wasn't far. The ice cream itself was yummy 💁But wow so messy, and I'm good at eating ice cream cones without making a mess. It was more messy than the average ice cream cone, and...
Read moreIt's the perfect little shop for gelato and sorbet if you love either of those. The shop itself is very nice, cute and cozy with the staff being very friendly and quick. The staff was also quick to clean up any mess that was made keeping it very clean which was really nice to see. Made sure to keep the individual gelato and sorbet clean of the other flavours.
Mother and I got the small size and it was a good size portion and the prices were really good. Flavours we got was a vanilla and dark chocolate shavings as our first flavour. Our second was a mint chocolate chip for me and Tiramisu for my mother. All the flavours tasted really good and you could really taste each flavour. The texture was great and very smooth. I love the selection that was available to choose from which is nice.
I would definitely visit again and try...
Read moreI’d come back to Ottawa for this spot alone. I love, love, love local ice cream shops who make their own ice cream. Piccolo Grande knows their stuff and I was so delighted to have come across this spot. Pistachio, Bacio, and cookies and cream all received high praise from my family. We loved being able to sit dow, cool down, and debrief on our day while enjoying our gelato. Worth a visit (or two) and definitely worth taking a minute to appreciated skill that is required to make gelato this good. As a side note, the staff were all incredible. Offered opinions on flavors when asked, let us try samples, and were genuinely kind and helpful. We bumped into one of the staff members hours later in Byward market. She remembered us (🤯), and she was eating gelato on the go. That’s how you...
