I gave them 3 stars because its a super cool concept and they have a pretty good game selection. They lost stars because I had to flag down our waitress any time our table wanted to order a drink or food (I think she was new). She was really nice but very soft spoken and didn't come back to check up on our table after we were initially greeted upon arrival. When we ordered food, my friend received hers but mine never came. After a little over an hour, I flagged down our waitress to ask how much longer it would be and she scurried away to check on it. Another waitress came over and said, "did you order from me or the other girl" to which I replied "our original waitress". She then said, "well she didn't enter it, so you still want it? If so that's not a problem." I said no thanks. As some feedback from my experience working in customer service and restaurant industry, you should never throw your team under the bus. She could have come over and simply said, "I'm so sorry it appears your order did not get entered, we can make that now for you if you'd like and for the inconvenience, offer x% off the dish/bill." Overall, not a bad experience but there's room for improvement.

It wasn’t the establishment itself it was our waiter. This is literally my first negative review I usually just don’t go back but she was so terrible I felt the need to do this. -forgot about our table -the order took FOREVER to come out -she wasn’t nice, she just spoke in a nice tone. Incredibly passive aggressive The issue really happened when she brought us our nachos…. There weren’t enough nachos to eat with the toppings. We asked for more nachos she replies with “people finish it off with a knife and fork” ..… be so fr she expected us to eat sour cream and guacamole with a knife and for? That’s disgusting. She said more chips would be an additional $8 charge. Obviously the chips took ages to come out. WHEN WE GOT THE $8 bowl of chips we didn’t know if we should laugh or be upset (see picture) Yea this waiter soured the mood every time she stopped by because her service was so disingenuous. I’ve never had service like this here before. Hopefully you don’t get the girl with green hair.

The rumors are true. This place is the BEST. Tried going a weekend ago (new to the city) but too long of a wait so I made sure to make a reservation this time and I’m so glad I did!! We tried the board game side and had an absolute blast, playing so many games. I loved the selection, organization, and overall vibe. It was really “first time visitor” friendly. The waiter (when I asked) recommended the chai latte and it was probably the best chai latte I’ve ever purchased (and I’ve bought a lot). The pierogi appetizer was really good and I’m excited to go back and try the fried macaroni and some cocktails! I also really want to try some more board games and the video game section, which we didn’t get to try this time. Reservations are worth it!! Such a fun place. Also don’t worry if you don’t have a crowd, it’s great for two player and/or a date. However I definitely would love to come back with a group once I meet more people around here :)

We stumbled into the pub after a full day of rainy Ottawa citytripping, tired and craving a good time. And did we find it! A warm welcome, an immediate seat at the bar with a swift promise of a table, fantastic cocktails (take a moment to gawk at the creativity of the menu!) and a wonderful selection of games. The staff is super attentive and kind, tends to every need and checks in frequently. Our favourite moment was the game sommelier recommending and explaining Earth to us, after which we lost ourselves for 2+ hours in competitive ecosystem building. A great place for board game, pop culture and cozy evening people alike. PS: no need to play an actual board or video game, you can just as well ask for a dinner table and enjoy the lively atmosphere (but I will say that enjoying their luxurious collection definitely adds to the experience!).

Massive board game selection and great service. Had great fun playing games from childhood. Good beer and food. Not a five star review just due to fact that to play games you had to pay 5 dollars 50 pp to play these games which a lot are incomplete sets and not many games which can be played by two people as a lot were 3 players or over so more tailored for group visits. Also some other patrons marred the experience. A group of 8 people on the table behind got very loud and excited over games of Jenga and their shrill shrieking was very disturbing to my ears. Another table had a loud person holding court which took me out of my experience as like the other group mentioned he didn't seem to care about keeping the noise level to an acceptable level and respect that others were also there trying to enjoy themselves.

Tried the two drinks with the candy (I preferred the cherry one but both were delicious), the fried mac (perfectly crispy crunchy breading - delicious), and the sweet potato fries (very over salted in my opinion but otherwise good). My friends had the bruschetta, the Level One poutine, and the pierogis, and they said those were fantastic as well. I highly recommend the drinks that come with the gummy candy. The gummies were the freshest, softest gummy candies I've ever had in my life. I had no idea gummies could be so good, it was actually life changing. I realize this sounds like a meme but I'm not even joking. The bartender was so nice and gave me a few more when I asked(begged)!! There's no candy on the drink in my picture because I ate it immediately.
