Markie's Montreal Smoked Meat — Restaurant in Ottawa

I recently tried Markie’s Smoked Meat in Orleans for the very first time, and I have to say it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The smoked meat is absolutely delicious – tender, juicy, and flavorful. It melts in your mouth, and you can tell they put care into preparing it just right.

The customer service was another highlight. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and quick to serve, which really made the visit enjoyable. My order was ready in no time, yet the quality wasn’t rushed at all. The place itself is clean and well-kept, which adds to the overall good impression.

If you enjoy sitting outside, they also have a nice patio where you can relax and enjoy your meal while taking in the beautiful weather. It’s a great touch for anyone who likes a casual dining atmosphere.

The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. There are also plenty of parking spaces available, which makes it convenient to stop by.

The only small thing I would mention is that I wish they offered a bit more pickles with the sandwich – it would really complement the smoked meat perfectly. Other than that, everything was fantastic.

Visited for the first time on Tuesday, July 29/25 around 1130am.

Running out of good poutine places in Ottawa, my friend recommended this place because their sandwiches, she was told, were amazing.

Parking in the back or park in the next door plaza and walk over. Be mindful there's only one way in and out due to direction of traffic and an island in the road. So you may need to make some U turns.

Fairly empty because it was opening time on a Tuesday and it was hot.

Friend got a regular sandwich and we shares the large poutine - to go.

My friend said the sandwich was incredible. Next time ill give it a try. She said she'd definitely go back.

The large poutine even after a bit of travel was still phenomenal. Definitely shareable between 2-3 people. Fries were seasoned, cheese was great and the gravy was very good. Highly recommend the poutine here. Absolutely would come back.

Glad there is indoor and outdoor seating for those who want some sunshine during the summer months~

The food here is good friendly staff. Good smoked meat, and fresh ingredients.Big portions for the price. They have good fries, with skins on, and good creamy coleslaw. They have other food too like burgers, with double patties, my friend had it, and said it needed some seasoning though. We had deep fried pickles that were great. Fish was good ,but not freshly battered.We did enjoy our meal ,and for the price and smoked meat, we will come back. Free parking out back too was nice but about 6 stairs to get to the front door. I dont remember seeing a ramp for a wheelchair but its a possibility. Its a smaller place, and with the door opening, it brings in the cold.Basic tables, and chairs, blinds on the windows i noticed were broken.They dont bring your food to your table, you have to get it with a buzzer,we also had to collect our plates after our meal and bring them to the kitchen, because no one had collected them. So no servers. They had desserts but we didnt have any but they looked good. Again i will be back for the smoked...
