Mary Brown's Chicken — Restaurant in Ottawa

Tonight was our third time visiting this place. Also, lucky for us (not!) We had the pleasure of dealing with the same cashier each time. Highly unprofessional, ignorant, and rude. It's not often I rate places as I understand the stress of customer service (being doing it 15+ years) and I get sometimes people have bad days.. but come on - all 3 times? We also got charged individually for each combo item because we asked they not bother with the coleslaw since it would go to waste. Cost us more in the long run. Icing on top tonight was when they forgot our drinks, a side, dipping sauce for the chicken, and the chocolate sauce for the desert. Ok, no problem they're busy and maybe it got lost in translation between the few people behind the counter. We politely waited in line again to ask for the missing items only to have eye rolls and attitude thrown at us. From what we were gathering from tonight it doesn't seem like anyone got stellar service. I was so excited to have a Mary Browns in Ottawa again since the Barrhaven location closed years ago. Unfortunately, as much as I love mary browns I will not be returning to this location. Not worth being treated like that over a 10 dollar meal. Will happily drive to Petawawa or...

First impression was that the location has an open and inviting feeling, clean, not cluttered, lots of room to check the menu and order along with plenty of seating area. Next was the country music playing, LOVED it! It fit the store so well. As it was my first time, the person taking my order was awesome, super friendly, confident and actually seemed to enjoy working there, this made such a difference. We have  found ourselves returning to places such as these. When the staff is engaged and they are serving a great product (loved the chicken) it's a win/win. I wish I could give a shout out to our server, he deserves it. The distance from our home makes it a little bit of a trek since we have lots of options within a couple of kilometers vs 3.5 km. I know that's not much of a difference but when the options are many, closer. But after trying your product we will be back. We have not tried fried chicken in years because of last experiences with greasy product from both KFC and Popeyes and so that has held us also back from trying yet another greasy fried chicken place. I had a fantastic experience at the Mary Brown’s location in Kanata, and a big part of that was thanks to the exceptional service provided by Mannat, the cashier. From the moment I stepped up to the counter, she greeted me with a genuine smile and a friendly attitude that immediately made me feel welcome.

Mannat was incredibly polite, patient, and knowledgeable about the menu. She took the time to answer my questions and even offered helpful suggestions that made my meal even better than expected. It’s rare to find someone who combines professionalism with such a warm, personal touch.

The service was quick, my order was accurate, and it was clear that Mannat cares about creating a positive experience for every customer. In a fast-paced food environment, her calm and cheerful demeanor stood out in the best way possible.
