Highly Disappointing and Unsanitary Dining Experience at Moxies Innes Road My recent Mother's Day visit to Moxies on Innes Road in Orleans, Canada, was nothing short of a deeply concerning and frankly, disgusting experience. What was meant to be a celebratory family dinner with my wife and baby, turned into a shocking display of poor service and questionable hygiene practices.
We arrived between 7 PM and 8 PM and placed our order: a burger for myself, a steak for my wife, and an order of Tostitos as an appetizer. Shortly after, a young male server approached our table and placed an appetizer, also containing Tostitos, in front of us. Unaware that it was not our order but intended for the family behind us, my wife and I both reached for and touched some of the chips while conversing. Before we could even take a chip, the server returned and, in a rather rude tone, questioned, "Is this what you ordered?" We expressed our confusion, stating someone had just placed it on our table. He then pressed, "Have you eaten any of this?" We clarified that we had not eaten any, but had indeed touched some of the chips. Despite our clear answer, he repeated the question, and we reiterated our response. He then declared, "No, this is not your order," and promptly took the appetizer away.
As he walked away, we called out to him again, emphasizing that we had touched the food, assuming he would discard it for hygiene reasons. To our utter shock and profound disgust, he turned around and proceeded to deliver the very same touched appetizer to the family seated behind us. It is incomprehensible that Moxies would allow such an unsanitary practice. For the sake of a few chips, the restaurant willingly put other customers in a potentially unhygienic situation. The thought that food, which my wife and I had touched and spoken over (with the likelihood of airborne particles contaminating it), was then served to unsuspecting patrons is appalling. If such practices are openly displayed, one can only dread what goes on behind the scenes in the kitchen.
The issues did not end there. When our main courses were ready, a different server attempted to deliver our meals to the table behind us. Fortunately, we were vigilant and intercepted her before another misdelivery occurred. This incident further solidified our disgust with the overall service and attention to detail at this establishment.
Our bill for this highly unsatisfactory experience totaled $122.15, for a burger, a steak, an appetizer, and a drink, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, around 8-9 PM. This visit has left us thoroughly disgusted, and we will not be returning to Moxies on Innes Road. We strongly advise others to consider their options carefully before...
Read moreWent there for dinner the other evening. Restaurant wasn’t too busy, lighting was great as with music. Girl who sat me was very polite. Sat down at the bar waited for the girl to finish talking to a customer to come and greet me. She must have been having a bad day didn’t seem interested in talking to anyone really. That’s fine not everyone can be talkative all day everyday. Ordered a beer and the carbonara. Girl who delivered the dish was very pleasant. Upon tasting it I realized it was stone cold. Tossed it about the bowl thinking maybe the top was cold. No was cold throughout. Took a bit to get the girls attention again not interested in being there. I explained it was cold. Before I had a chance to finish the sentence the bowl and her were gone. Maybe this is a regular thing? No apologies, no it’ll just be a moment or anything. Same girl who brought it the first time brought it the second. Again very pleasant and very apologetic about the situation. Great. Even explained my server(bartender) would definitely check in to make sure it was good. Well she clearly couldn’t care less about the remake or reheat whatever it was. In fact it was still cold. I couldn’t be bothered at that stage to attempt to ask her for help so I just ate the dish. Taste was actually pretty good despite the temp. I continued to drink my beer. I had finished it about five minutes before I was asked if I wanted anything else. I didn’t and asked for the bill. It was dropped and I said I would pay cash. Bill was $37.01. I put $40 with the intention of tipping on top. I’ve worked in the industry for years and never stiff a server I know how hard it can be on slow nights. However the money was taken with a bare thanks. No do you want change or anything. In fact I wasn’t even offered my change back. So I thought why would I give extra tip if she effectively stole the change from me! I sat for another few minutes wondering who has the audacity to take someone’s money and not even say anything or even think maybe this guy is not tipping much as a result of my service? Nothing. Maybe moxies needs to bring the expo/ food runner who is hospitable out...
Read moreMoxie’s in Orleans, Ontario, is a delightful culinary haven that masterfully combines a relaxed ambiance with an exquisite dining experience. My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed, from the moment I walked through the door to the last bite of my meal.
Upon perusing the menu, my taste buds were immediately enticed by the enticing array of offerings. Eager to indulge in a hearty meal, I opted for their loaded burger and a plate of calamari. Little did I know that I was in for a treat that would tantalize my palate in every way.
The loaded burger, a masterpiece of culinary creation, arrived at my table in all its glory. The first bite was a revelation – a harmonious blend of flavors that danced across my taste buds. The juicy, perfectly cooked patty was generously adorned with layers of cheese, crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and all the fixings that make a burger truly extraordinary. The accompanying fries were golden and crisp, offering a delightful contrast to the indulgent burger. The combination of textures and flavors was nothing short of spectacular, and each mouthful was a gratifying experience that left me craving more.
Equally exceptional was the calamari, which proved to be a splendid prelude to the main course. The tender rings of calamari were lightly battered and expertly fried to a golden perfection. Accompanied by a zesty dipping sauce, they provided a burst of flavor that was both satisfying and invigorating. The dish struck a perfect balance between the delicate taste of the calamari and the boldness of the sauce, making it an irresistible appetizer that left a lasting impression.
The service at Moxie’s was equally noteworthy. The staff exuded warmth and professionalism, ensuring that my dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. The attention to detail, from the timely refilling of water glasses to the genuine smiles that greeted me, added a touch of hospitality that elevated the...
