The worst experience ive ever had. I visited mu goong hwa garden with my family to have a dinner. First of all, the server told me that there was one person at the kitchen, and everything would be slow. I was definetly fine with that. However, the server gave us the utensils on the top of the dirty menu. Maybe he was busy, but okay. We ordered galbi and tofu soup set menu, and after waiting a long time, we received the foods. The waiting time was not a problem for us. While eating, my mother found the galbi too hard to chew. When we took a look, it was undercook. My mother found it disturbing.Once we saw it, we couldnt continue eating because there may be more undercook galbi. So, we called the server and asked to cook the rest of them. Then, as we were eating, my brother found something weird in the tofu soup. It was crab stick with the plastic cover in it. Im sure they boiled it for a long time with the soup. We called the server, he took it right away with a short apology. Good thing i took a photo of it beforehand. The server asked if i did not want to pay for the soup. Well, shouldnt have the chef come and apologize first? He or she didnt show us the face and just the server asked me if i wanted to pay or not. What is this? Cant the chef take the responsibility? Later, the server told me we dont have to pay. And still no sign of the chef coming out and apologize in person.
Ok, you guys are busy, and i understand. But we can understand if foods come out late. It happens. But why are you guys are causing problems and not trying to come out and be responsible? The server had to ask me if I wanted to call the chef to receive the apologies. Thats not the problem. He or she should have come out voluntarily and apologized in person.
This is really unacceptable and ive decided to upload this review so that other customers would not experience the same. I am uploading the photos to prove that I am not...
Read moreWe’ve been to this restaurant in the past, back when they had sushi on the menu. We loved everything about it back then. We visited recently, and unfortunately won’t be coming back again. We came for the kbbq (on the left side of the restaurant). There weren’t too many people sitting around and I don’t remember if music was playing, but it was peaceful where we were seated, and could easily have a conversation. We picked “Option B” on the menu. We didn’t know that they didn’t have any Yam or Onion left when we picked the option until later (the server didn’t tell us). The servers kept conveniently forgetting to bring the meat and sides that we ordered. On our first round we said, “everything except the chicken”, and they didn’t bring out the shrimp or squid until we had to remind them on the second round. We had to ask a server to change our grill which is something that they were supposed to do once or twice during the meal, but we got some attitude from the server (a huge sigh and a wave of his hand to cut us off before leaving) and had to wait another while before our grill was changed. I believe they were starting to get upset when we ordered our third round of fried tofu (four pieces each order). A lot of time was wasted on waiting, that was for sure. We had empty plates and empty grills for some time, waiting for meat, a grill change, or sides.. For a restaurant that wasn’t too busy, the servers hardly ever came around, and when they did, they were rushing to leave. There were a few times during our meal where we were asking them for meat, and they’d leave to get it before we even finished our order - in the middle of speaking. The marinades on the food were really mediocre. They used to be really flavourful, but now it’s almost too plain. The short ribs were really tough and we had to fight to rip them off the bone. The only good thing we had was the...
Read moreIt saddens me to write this review (previous was 5 🌟) bc my friends and I have been going here for years. We like to support the mom and pop businesses but my experience yesterday will be my last. They only had one staff in front who had to do cash, serve, and coordinate ubereats deliveries. The guy was so preoccupied, he could barely even take our AYCE orders which btw we had only one serving bc they said they ran out of some items even though we paid for Option B - the premium one. They also eliminated salmon sushi so what you get is fake crab and cucumber...yummy! 🙄 All the tables present had to send one representative up front to order or remind bc he would just run away from you once dropping off things. Clearly the man was overwhelmed and the owner was not treating their employee correctly. For a moment, I thought we were eating in North Korea. If your business can't handle the volume perhaps concentrate on either dine-in or take-out. When it was time to pay, I told the guy that we should not be charged for option B...he agreed but had to check with the owner who said NO bc meat is expensive. Well, duh!!! That was why we were willing to pay extra but didn't end up getting it due to their lack of staffing. Pretty sure food was rushed bc quality was not like it used to be. For $33 before tax...I recommend going elsewhere. RUN!!! Support small and local businesses but not ones that treat their employee_ like an...
